Since when?

This is you're predictions

Henson is our future QB
Romo will never make it as a QB
Henry will not be back next year
Norv Turner is our next Coach
A. Glenn will not be back next year
We are going CB with our first round pick
Stanback is to slow to be a WR
Stanback will be cut

Wow ....... you are really in the know huh?

This guy now says we would have found a blue chip corner in the 4th round.

And I believe he all but said Vandy was a good, consistent kicker.:laugh1:

You cannot take anything he says seriously ..... his quest to be "right" about something comes before anything else.

Guess I am Right and you are wrong.

gonna give us the old "neener neener" again?

you said stanback wasn't a WR - is this the "i'm right!" you're now touting?

you're just a silly fan with a strong gift of annoyance. you can't talk like an adult so you whimper around like a child. the obvious befuddles you and the simple sends you reeling into deep thought. if you were right you'd not even know it because what in your past could you possilby compare the feeling to?

no one ever said CB isn't an imortant position.
no one ever said we've got an all star secondary.

we did say there were more important things to cover in this last draft and just because you're predictions were all wrong (is that what you were right about?) you hate the draft and can't tell a WR from a QB. (or is that it?)

w/newman and a solid rush, our secondary wasn't a huge problem. w/o newman, it is. newman has never had a history of injuries but like others have tried to tell you - when the starter in any position goes down, you've got some problems.

now if only it were simple enough to get #1 players for all positions, we'd be set. but when you live in reality you can't do that and need to balance as best you can.

that's the obvious.

and that befuddles you.

we now work to fix the problem. that's simple.

and that sends you into deep thought.

so go. what you were right about is the equivelent of saying "we need to breathe to live" but if it makes you warm inside to proclaim such things, you have yourself a good little time.

the adults will be elsewhere, though.

Its an injury .... and Newman has not missed a real game yet.

Henry and Glenn are solid.

Noone in this league has a starter sitting on the bench in the 4th slot ..... deal with it.

you've said a lot of stupid things for months. like stanback wasn't a WR.

how come you don't go tout that also?

there's nothing to be "Right" about here, BOY. nothing at all. newman is hurt it's "now" an issue. w/a healthy newman, we're fine.

now go yell LOOK AT ME LOOK AT ME while you dive into the shallow end of hte pool with the other children.

You mean this was our ONLY problem?

What IF we didn't sign Davis? Would you be happy with Rivera coming back?

What IF we didn't draft Spencer? Would you be happy with an Ellis-less LB corps? Would you be happy to see Spencer being the Birds' sack leader instead?

What IF we didn't draft Free and Marten? Would you be happy with 2 scrub OTs 1-2 years from now?

What IF we didn't draft Folk? Wouldn't you be panicking over Grammy's injury problems now?

Dude-Parcells left us with TOO many holes to fill. Frankly-I'm just glad we filled a good number of them.

parcells revamped the D and that created a lot of holes to fill and player types to go after, and get rid of. i'm not sure why we took a solid, top flight D and shelled it but we did, so here we are.

i agree, not everything can be fixed at once and not everything to every fans satisfaction. my obsession with the OL wasn't because it sucked bat guano, but because we had a qb who had to have a super one and we didn't give him that. w/bledsoe gone a top flight line lowered as well to me. many people saw me tied to the OL but not because of bledsoe but because i had a spur up my spurplace.

but you brought up some good points. i only wish they'd sink in on the terminally dense of the world.

If Folk, Stanback, and Marten end up being a starting kicker, starting WR, and starting RT and Wright turns into a starting CB you still get....

Folk, Stanback, Marten > Wright.

I think Folk and Marten can be very solid players in this league. If Stanback turns into a great WR, even if Wright turns into a Newman/Baily type CB, we still have the better value. (I think Free will end up the starting LT)

I seem to recall Wade saying at the beginning of camp that there were no serious areas of weakness on this team. And that was true. But if you have injuries then ANY TEAM is going to have holes.

Come on eduncan lets here and answer for this, other than your parrot responce of we need CB depth. How do you suggest getting more CB depth a #4 CB at that, while still getting the depth that we needed at starting OLB, and backup RT and LT positions. RT depth being behind a guy who DOES have a long history of injuries. We also needed depth behind our WR's with both Glenn and Owens being over 30. And lets not forget that we needed to get a better kicker as well.

You might as well do this :bang2:

You'll get a better answer

In the months leading up to the 2007 draft, there were a bunch of people around here who were in favor of drafting a CB early. Perhaps roughly an even number wanted a 1st round WR. Relatively few people wanted an LB, until support for Anthony Spencer picked up some steam - maybe a week or so before the draft.

The interesting part of this is that the Cowboys could have ended up with Spencer, and the Browns' 1st round choice, and a starting caliber CB (albeit with a checkered past).

Without having access to the various sources of indepth information regarding Wright's character (past and present), I don't know if I'd have passed on Wright or if I'd have drafted him. The Browns were o.k. with him, the Cowboys apparently weren't.

I think it is becoming clear that the Cowboys are willing to risk draft picks on players with injury histories, but have become more conservative about risking draft picks on players with character histories.

What's strange is, all you heard about Wright before the draft was that he had the one incident in college as a freshman, but he transferred to UNLV and hadn't had one ounce of trouble in the three years since. So everyone was claiming that he was just a kid who made one mistake, learned from it, and was actually okay.

But too many pundits said he was the second most (or most) talented corner in the draft, and for him to not go until the middle of the second... I have to think teams found that there was more there than we fans ever heard about.

Heck-it WILL come back to haunt him though.

For now, he's going to prove the skeptics wrong by having a great first couple of years. Then once he gets that big FAT contract, the same ole Wright from a few years ago will pop up instead.

This is a flat out lie

You have been talking about replacing Henry ..... not getting someone to replace TNew.
