Perhaps this team overachieved a lot that season. We went 13-3 and blew out so many teams. Ever since that season we have been severely overrated. Maybe we were never that good to begin with. We looked bad at the end of that season and got manhandled in the second half against the giants.

This team has had the mentality ever since that season that they are more talented and should automatically be a contender. They are so full of themselves that every time they do something the media and fans automatically think they are so good. Then they take the attitude that they just need to show up and they will win. Look at the saints game last year. Everyone was saying they had no chance to win. They go in there and win. Then after beating the saints and philly, lots of people were back on the bandwagon.

Many people were picking them over the vikings. On paper, there was nobody that could stop our offense the way the were rolling or put up points against our stellar d. What happens, they go in and lay an egg, playing like a team that had no passion whatsoever.

This year so many people automatically handed them the division based on talent alone, with many people picking them for the superbowl. They come out week 1 and lay an egg again. This week everyone picks them again, saying they are too talented to lose two games in a row, not to mention the bears should have lost to the lions. Then they get beat again and jenkins comes out and finally says it. They underestimated the other team.

Until they get the idea out of their head that they are the most talented team to ever step foot on the field, we will continue to see this uninspired play. How you could ever underestimate a team after doing that the week before is ridiculous. They think all they have to do is show up and they will win, or they can flip the switch late and pull it out. The NFL does not work like that and i hope they learn soon.

Without even looking I would bet that team had the best conversion rate on 3rd down than any of our other Wade Phillips teams.

According to nfl.com our 3rd down conversion rate right now is 42 percent. Thats not terrible, but yet we still aren't putting up points.

Just checked and we converted 42 percent of third downs in 2007 as well

We also ran the ball more consistently that year. That's the year Barber had the big year scoring. I believe Tony Sprano was in charge of the running game that year. Maybe that's what we need. Some one else to show JG how the run game should be incorporated into this offense.

This comes from the Fan base and Media. I can not remember anything of the sort coming from players so much.

When they show up uninspired, that shows you they think they can just show up and win. Jenkins even said it himself. They underestimated the bears.

Like parcells would say. This team has been drinking their own kool-aid ever since that 2007 season.

That year we had a great knack for converting 3rd and 8-12. We were outstanding on 3rd and longs and that seemed to be a real key to the season.

O Linemen were three years younger and not on the wrong side of 30.

Thats what I remember most about that season.

It could be 3rd and a mile and Romo would buy time in the pocket and find someone for the 1st.

Now he is a little more robotic and just takes what the defense gives up.

He needs to look to start making plays again with buying time because that is what makes him special.

I didn't feel like the pass protection was all that bad this week.

1.8 yards per rush. Bear D Line doominated the O Line, and they dont have any future HOFers.

Absolutely agree. If I remember one thing about that season, it was feeling completely confident on every 3rd and long that Romo would find the open man and continue the drive.

So much has changed since then. It sucks looking back on how much fun that season was (At least until the playoffs) and then look at how badly we've eroded since then.

I hope Romo decides to takeover games like he used to.

He needs to stop playing within the system sometimes and just go be Tony Romo.

He certainly doesn't play as free as he did then. That's what made him so great then was his unpredictability and improv.

Tony Sparano ftw. Looked like he had a big hand in Garrett's playcalls that year

Yeah he is a better player when he is moving and him getting back to that may be just what this team needs.
