I was reading about that earlier this morning. We blew it for sure, but the truth is, there are many teams that have nobody left on their rosters from that draft. The Pats had 12 picks as well that year - including 4 second rounders - and Vollmer is the only one left.

The 2009 draft was just garbage in general.

Agreed...2009 was a horrid draft. The only position of strength that came out of that draft seems to be the WR's, and even that was hit and miss. (Crabtree-10, Maclin-19, Harvin-22, Nicks-29, Mike Wallace- 84).

The odd thing is about this draft, is that the best player in the entire 2009 draft class went undrafted....RB Arian Foster.

And some keep criticizing Garrett for not making the playoffs yet... A depleted team like this needs a 5-year rebuilding plan (at the least)...Still JG took this team to the last game of the season with w/ a chance to win the division...

If that is not a great HC'ing performance...I don't know what is....

Most of the members of this board knew 2009 draft was a complete bust the second it was over. How nice would it have been to trade a few of those picks for slightly higher picks in 2010 draft. EVERYONE knew, at that time with our 12 or 13 picks, that we didn't have that many roster spots open and that we'd end up cutting some of our draft picks before the season even started. Complete botch, had we gotten 1 starter for 12 picks from that draft we'd be exponentially better off now.

I would argue that Clay Matthews is a better player than Arian Foster. That's just me though.
