Stephen tried to warn the Rams

Jerry is a very successful Businessman. Family wealth achieved.

That's all.

Way late to the party on mentioning this, but the title of this thread is an all-time classic.

Yeah. That's the point. He said they pushed everything into one year and will pay the price for that after, but now we see that they haven't. He clearly didn't know what he was talking about.
well I can agree with that lol , he rarely knows what he is talking about, same for stephen.
But they seem to have changed their philosophy a little , but will probably never admit they were wrong earlier.

We’ve said it with our actions in free agency every year for over a decade now
It was different this year, and hopefully they keep it going.
Trying to get these 2 misers to spend $, even salary cap is very hard to do but I think shotty is changing them a little bit.

That second team defense could have been a starting unit for a team that would have been pretty good.

The depth was ridiculous. That’s why Jerry was able to hang on for another little while before it all went to hell. Hence the Parcells comment some years later about how in two years you’ll never know he was ever here.

I really don’t get how anyone can claim that Jerry had anything at all to do with personnel when Jimmy was here. The way the moves are made alone tells you that it’s not the same person pulling the strings. But whatever. Thats Jerrys thing….proving to the world that he can do it too. I’d ask this….why is he so hell-bent on proving himself if he has already done it?
Especially since Jerry has gone out of his way to prove that he had no idea why we won 3 super bowls.

Myles Garret playoffs: 3 games, 1 sack, 1 TFL, 2 QB hits, 6 tackles.

Micah Parson playoffs (with Cowboys): 3 games, 3 TFL, 4 QB hits, 18 tackles.

And we love to talk about how Micah disappeared in playoff games here when it mattered the most.

Just pointing out that nothing is a given.
Not me. I think you replied to the wrong poster!!!!

Prescott 44 million, Pickens 27 million. Williams 21 and Lamb 19
Total =111 million

Stafford 48 million , Adams 26, Jackson 25 and Dotson 17
Total =116 million

These are 2026 cap hits top 4 for each team. Rams is higher.

You forgot to mention how the Cowboys have $42.4 million in Dead Cap Money they owe for 2026, while the Rams only have $10.7 million.

Plus, Dak and CeeDee recently restructured their contracts with the Cowboys in order to create capspace for the 2026 season.

Meanwhile, Matt Stafford and his teammates have not.

That is the big differences you forgot to mention. Cowboys waaaay overpay their top players compared to other teams. Plus, the Cowboys always end up with much bigger Dead Cap Money to pay on a yearly average.

does what matter??
you are talking about the rams now contending?
I’m talking about the fact they won. Tore it down. Rebuilt. And we’re 4 points away from another SB appearance. And are favourites to win it all again this year.

While the cowboys under the amazing guidance of Stephen Jones, haven’t made it to past the divisional round and are on the receiving end of one of the worst beatings in the history of the sport with home field.

That’s what I’m talking about.

Not "given".

It has always been that way. Won't ever change.
I get what you’re saying. But in our republic we are choosing this. A couple years ago we chose to give them breaks and pay for it by cutting service for others.

Oddly, many voted to cut their own services. Thats giving imo. But I get what you’re saying.

They are lying when they do it, some of them even know they are lying because I have repeatedly posted the link to Jimmy confirming that he was the GM and it was even written in his contract, too. Jerry literally did nothing but sign the checks.

I was replying to your post which clearly stated the Cowboys top 4 players Cap Hit was higher. At least not this year. I’m not disputing other factors.

I would only add that ultimately the responsibility falls on our ownership and front office to negotiate better or more team friendly deals which enable to build and or surround them with more talent.

I’d present which has been argued for years that our ownership priorities are out of whack willing to over pay our stars cause it sells jerseys helping keep butts in the stands and team hovering around the rim while limiting us from building greater teams.

It’s also been established that our ownership doesn’t get out in front of these big deals which ultimately always cost us more. AC , I’d suggest you’re pointing the finger in the wrong direction. Thanks

I wouldn’t say he did nothing but it was obviously in a lesser role. Jimmy had final say.

He's was born with family wealth. It's much easier to be a "wild catter" when you are already a multi-millionaire from birth.
No, he wasn’t born with wealth. His father increased his value over time from owning a local grocery store to eventually owning a local insurance company . But his father never had the level of wealth he has achieved .

Remember after graduating Arkansas he tried to buy the Chargers in late 60’s but didn’t have enough money to go alone without other investors. And Jethro’s father advised against taking money from Jimmy Hoffa.

Stafford was offered a bigger contract and took less to stay w/ the Rams. That's what a real man does.
