http://web.archive.org/web/20070823222738/http://BAN-INCOMING-IN-3-2-1/draft2008WR.php
Jackson: Top 5 pick
Doucet and Manningham: Top 15 picks
Bowman and Urrutia: Top 25 picks
and so on...
Crabtree could easily run a slow 40 and slip from a sure fire top 5 to a second day pick. It's way too early to comment on the quality of the 09 class

But if he is healthy he will not run a poor 40 time. The kid is blazing fast.
This WR class is much stronger than what we just saw and that will bear out each day we get closer to next year's draft.
Jeremy Maclin is a better player than DeSean Jackson but the same type of lighter weight guy. Once you get past Jackson who had crazy attitude and weight issues the rest of this previous class had an issue with actually playing WR. That will not be an issue for the next class. A lot of the top performers from last season are returning, including Crabtree and Dillard.
It will be a strong WR class provided there aren't a rash of injuries.
Hervin of Florida will rise with a big year, so will the big kid out of USC. They may both pass Crabtree but are not better overall prospects.
CATCH17;2078959 said:Maclin is good but he aint got nothing on Desean Jackson.
He could end up being a better pro but Jackson is on another level as of last January.
jterrell;2078982 said:Huh? Inxay there bro.
Maclin had over 1000 yards receiving, 1000 yards in kick returns and averaged a TD per game. DeSean Jackson wasn't close to those numbers.
Oh and Maclin played one of the toughest schedules in the country for a top 5 team.
Maclin averaged 200 all purpose yards per game last year. Desean Jsckson can't even hold his jock. DeSean averaged 120 as a sophomore and 80 as a junior so his final two collegiate season together he was as effective as Maclin in one, rofl.
Again it is very dificult to overstate just how mediocre this past WR class was in actual game performance. Devin Thomas had 1 true NCAA season. Jackson got worse instead of better and had major attitude issues, Malcolm Kelly produced but never came close to carrying the offense and then ran slow. Limas Sweed was a talent but he was never the focal point of the UT offense. In almost every player's case you'd say they were mediocre in actual game performance. There will be no WR busts because nothing is really expected of any of them.
In a day and age of wide open passing attacks there just weren't many WRs in the class.
Maclin, Hervin, Crabtree, Dillard and others have been performing now and proven they are better than this past class. They are also the focal points of their offenses which promise to put up major points.

But I do agree He will be dominant this upcoming year.
