Capers is the DC in Green Bay so he can't make a lateral move.

He isn't the only D guy Garrett knows. Just the one he wanted to use at the time.

People wonder why a few of us like Wade? It's questions like this one. After three defensive-minded head coaches in a row, I'm sure the next one will be from the offensive side. Shanahan and Holmgren are both very good coaches, obviously, but a WCO head coach that can never seem to get the defense right just doesn't float my boat. Sure, it works in Philly, but Jim Johnson is truly great. And unless we lucked into someone like him, I'm afraid our D would take a turn for the worse.

But like others said, I'm not going to cross that bridge until we come to it. Who knows, we might actually be a huge success this year with the emphasis on running the ball, defense, and team.

The #1 thing I don't like going into this season is that it is almost 100% inevitable that Wade isn't coming back after this season.

If this team tanks its all on Wade and the players will once again not get the blame they deserve.

Agreed a team that comes to mind last year was Carolina now I know they got smoked against Arizona but prior to that they were a tough,physical team and they had a two headed monster in stewart,and williams.We got three backs that are very good. Our offense is gonna be fine as long as we control game clock,protect the ball,we will be a very tough team to beat

Ugh...I hope we don't go with Shanahan if Wade's gone. I'd rather go with Garrett, and I'm not the biggest Garrett supporter. The one thing I do believe Garrett has going for him is he's smart, organized and has poise, which are all required of a head coach -- even if he's not the best Xs and Os type.

I am afraid Garrett would bring in a bunch of idiots like Capers, etc.

I think Garrett is gonna make alot of adjustments this upcoming season with regards to Xs Os, cause like ya said he is a smart guy He is well capable of being one of the best Xs and Os guy in the league even though last season it was tough to see at times. Just getting a little more diverse with his formations and needs to run alot more different plays outta each formation
