Alot of talk about our safeties and the need to upgrade. But, are any of these guys any good? Based off of this list, I'd go Oline in Free Agency and Safety in the the draft.

BTW, the list is from Football's Future.com:

TOP SAFTETIES:
Antoine Bethea, IND
Quintin Mikell, PHI
Tanard Jackson, TB
Bernard Pollard, HOU
Darren Sharper, NO
Matt Ware, ARI
Coy Wire, ATL
Dawan Landry, BAL
Tom Zbikowski, BAL
George Wilson, BUF
Josh Bullocks, CHI
Danieal Manning, CHI
Chinedum Ndukwe, CIN
Roy Williams, CIN
Abram Elam, CLE
Gerald Sensabaugh, DAL
Alan Ball, DAL
Daniel Bullocks, DET
Atari Bigby, GB
Sean Considine, JAC
Gerald Alexander, JAC
Jarrad Page, KC
Deon Grant, NYG
Michael Johnson, NYG
Aaron Rouse, NYG
Brodney Pool, NYJ
Hiram Eugene, OAK
Eric Weddle, SD
Paul Oliver, SD
Dashawn Goldson, SF
Sabby Piscatelli, TB

Our problem with our O-line has been the fact that we have had to go free agency there instead of developing our own talent. One could argue that the two olinemen we do have that were homegrown (Free and Gurode) are our best.

I want to draft OLine from here on out. No more guns for hire there.

so basically no one............

Best options may come via trade

Donte Whitner, SS, Buffalo (actually believe he's a FA)
Brandon Merriweather, S, New England (FA after 2011)
Michael Huff, S, Oakland (FA after 2011)

The safties available in the draft aren't any better than the list you have.

We need a center fielder who can tackle for SS. And basically a big CB with big play skills for FS.

I'd take Bethea and pair him with Barry "The Reverend" Church.

Eww that is awful.

We NEED a playmaking safety in the draft.

Safety and Oline are absolute musts.

YES, I would love to have Michael Huff.

I wonder how big of an effect a new CBA will have on any possible free agents?

At least one of two things must true: You're either a Longhorns fan or you haven't actually seen Huff play.

I live in the Bay Area and have been forced to watch more Raiders games than I care too, Huff is JAG. Ask most Raider fans and they'll tell you the same.

Bethea has 0 picks and 3 pass deflections all year. Ball has better stats.

And guess what, Bethea is a better safety.

Of that group only Antoine Bethea peeks my interest.

I don't think Antoine is peeking at anything of yours.

I'd suggest you're trying very hard to misuse the word 'pique'.

Tanard Jackson, what the hell happened to that kid. He was probably one the smartest football players I have seen coming out of college at a non QB position in years and suddenly money and fame made him lazy and dumb.

We don't need a playmaking safety. We need a safety that can be in position and not give up big plays.
