2012 Free Agents - Defense

Finnegan isn't my favorite player but we sure can use some of his attitude on the defense.

I'd love to get Campbell and/or Williams but I just don't see it happening, especially Williams.

I definately wouldn't mind bringing in a guy like Porter or Ross to help in our secondary either.

Yeah, Houston would be nuts to let him walk unless they have absolutely no cap room to sign him.

Houston is not known to spend very big money plus they have Foster to think about to. Mario has been out most of the year and the D has never played better. It would not surprise me to see Houston make him a take it or leave it offer but not go all out to re sign him. He could very well hit the open market but my guess is he will look for a 4 -3 team to play for.

Finnigan and Ross would be interesting.

Of course, everybody would want Mario Williams but Avril and Idonija would be interesting.

Paul Soliai would be a guy that I think would make a huge difference for us. I could see us moving Rat to DE and putting Soliai at NT.

So, will this be Bradie James' final season as a Cowboy?

You could be right. I don't think Wade would want to let him go, but the front office might have the last say. And they do have a cap problem this year, which is one reason they didn't go after Orton. (at least that's what they said on TV).

I have no idea how they're looking next year.

obviously there are some marquis names that catch your eye on that list.

i'd love to get a chance at Calais Campbell

if his health checks out i wouldn't mind taking a look at Terrell Thomas the CB...he was solid for the Giants before getting his knee messed up. obviously that's a slippery slope

This.

And I'd go after a guy like Webb from Balt. He'd be a dece #3, plus he's a return guy if I'm not mistaken.

Best plan i can think of is resign Spencer, sigh Tulloch if possible, if not resign Bradie and pick up Soliai and Rogers, Porter, or Ross at CB.

HELL YEA!!

Other than that, I would definitely pull for Calais Campbell to free up our OLB on who would pass rush on the same side.

Also, anyone interested Geno Hayes?? The guy may only have the size to play SAM in a 4-3, but maybe he can keep his speed with a little weight added on.

Forget Mario. It's never going to happen. We don't need Forte or Foster. We need to spend money on one OL and rest on D if we want to compete next year. The Giggle will be much better next year and Gmen will be healthier. We better fix the D.

London Fletcher is exactly the type of player this defence needs.

I need to have this fantasy slapped out of me:

We get Mario Williams and he and Ware combine for 40 sacks next season.

I would take Finnegan if he didn't have a ten cent head.

Other than that, the list of DBs is deplorable.

Ross would be okay, but I'm not sure how much better he would be than anyone on the roster. I think Jenkins is better than Ross...and we need more Champ Bailey/Charles Woodson style CBs that tackle well.

There's always Brent Grimes :banghead:

The draft is going to have to be our source for a new CB this year, or we'll likely be going into next season with the same secondary in place with a little churn at the bottom.

As long as there was upgrade to both the defensive and offensive lines, this camper would be happy.
