I don't want the same outcome as 2014. Just a lil more defensive help and we could goto the Super Bowl baby. It's hard getting there, so let's not squander our opportunities.
If the pathetic cubs can end their 108 year drought its time for this franchise to end theirs.

I prefer this team.

Better defense and better run game because Zeke actually has vision.
I liked Murray, but there was one thing that bugged me about him and that is it looked like the moment he ran for 20+ yards on a play, he started looking for a way to stop, either through contact, running out of bounds, or he would simply fall.

With Elliott, he always wants more yards and as proven already, if given a chance, he will take it all the way.

Something to keep in mind: In 2014 we had a weaker schedule to start, lost to a bad Niners team, had to come back 21-0 against the Rams, and took OT to beat the Texans. I'll take the 2016 Cowboys.

Huh?
We lost by one point. If we had an additional 1.1 points we'd have one. I think you miss the point of the comment.
Yeah, I get that.
I was just saying that really the 2014 team scored more than just 1.1/game more than this group so far. The real number is 2.3 more ppg.
So they would cover the one point loss by even more.

All speculation, I know.
but we were on the same page.

I prefer the 2016 team, mainly because of the defense.

While we may give up yardage, it feels like the 2016 team has that ability to get a key stop when needed.

Look at the last game. Lee makes a huge stop on 3rd down, making Pederson punt. Then they step up again when our offense stuttered going 3 and out and we see a big play by Scandrick.
Our corners, especially Claiborne have stepped up to play big roles defensively, and we don't have Hayden in the middle.

I didn't expect playoffs even if Romo was healthy mainly because of the defense. But anything from here forward is gravy to me. We need to get back to ball control like we had in 2014 and try to avoid a first round playoff game at all costs. The NFC is there for the taking this year. The next games through thanksgiving will determine where we will stand come playoff time.

Dak can get you those "cheap" 1st downs with his legs and also get a few TDs at the goal line!

This team feels different.

The biggest difference to me though is I see no "stud" NFC team this year. It is ours for the taking if we want it!! Our division is good, but outside of that who scares you??
nobody, I think this team as it is can hold their own with any team, I do worry about losing mo and church.

we are top seed now so just have to maintain that, only seattle and minn is close with 2 losses.

Eerily similar

The funny thing about comparing stats from different years is that they play different teams.

You wouldn't compare Car racing stats from year to year if they changed tracks from year to year.

Another big similarity between this season and 2014 is that at 6-1, riding a 6 game winning streak like we were in 2014 we once again are facing a bad team. In 2014 we faced a 2-5 Commander team that was down in the dumps, playing with their 3rd string QB and we got beat. Romo ended up being injured costing him a game which helped get us beat the following week vs AZ. After the loss to Washington the Cowboys went 2-2 the next four weeks including a blowout loss to Philly on Thanksgiving. The loss to Washington could have very easily ruined our season because we slumped after that game but were able to right the ship just in the nick of time. We have to be focused and ready to play Cleveland on Sunday or we'll get beat.
