Great game. Gotta hand it to the Canadian gals... They played a whale of a game. It could have gone either way... It was that close.

Adelina Sotnikova wins gold in women's figure skating. tomorrow. its showtime on the rink; USA vs Canada men's hockey semifinal 11am on NBC sports network. the replay of the game airs I think also on the same network I believe 3pm. and hey look at the bright side, gracie gold won bronze in team competition.

Even though we are only down 1-0, Canada is pretty much dominating ATM. They look more focused and determined, to me anyways.

You know, I'm starting to think that there is something to this brewing Figure Skating judging scandal. It'll never really catch on or result in any changes, but I do wonder this:

WHAT THE HECK kind of sport has a judge get caught attempting to fix the outcome of meets, and then gets just a 1 year suspension??!? It would be like the NBA hiring Tim Donaghy back. Are you serious? A judge gets caught trying to rig the outcome of the Olympics 16 years ago, and then is back after a year????!?

there is absolutely nothing more corrupt in this world then so called amateur sports. Especially if you are talking Olympics.

Well the rumour was that your dance pair would be pushed to win over our pair in return the USA would push the Russians to the team gold.

That is exactly what happened.

Except the judges from the USA as well as Great Britain, Sweden and, arguably most importantly, South Korea were conveniently not selected for the women's long program, but the judges from Russia, Ukraine and Estonia were certainly represented. (the South Korean skater led after the short program when all those western judges were participating). So the more important long program was basically a bunch of old Eastern Bloc countries trying to judge between a completely unknown skater from Russia versus the reigning champion from South Korea.

Gee, I wonder which skater they will choose?

of course the judging is not great, just like there is no way Tessa and Scott were that many points behind the surfer and horseface from the USA in the dance. Figure skating has always been thus.
