Next year 2016 NFL Draft:
In first 5 rounds need the following:

1) QB (future Tony Romo replacement).
Spend their 1st Rounder on this rather than waiting later take one of the top in the Draft.

2) RB (future Demarco Murray replacement).
This needs to happen in the 2nd or 3rd round)

3) WR (speed, speed and more speed).
They need to add a vertical threat team is very slow and easy to cover at the WR spots)
They need someone that can become a #1 in case of a Dez injury.

Note: 3 important Offensive positions need filled next year or more doom awaits !!!

The entire rest of Draft I use on Defense.

Well this is a Draft that we might have to pull away from the BPA theory because QB and RB are desperate needs.
If your picking in top 10 and a Paxston or Goff is there and that's who they have rated as top 2 QB's than you take them
over a CB or OL. Sorry I always like BPA but these are critical needs.

If Lynch or Goff are there when the Cowboys pick than that is the BPA and you do select them.
There is not a RB in this draft that is not BPA until the 15-20 range.and that is only the range I would consider drafting a RB And only if it's Ezekiel Elliott.

BPA. Though you do position yourself so that the QB is the best player on your board for that first pick if at all possible.

RB is not a desperate need, and you can find one in the mid rounds. We're going to have to see what they do with the DL before deciding where to spend the premium picks. But S and WR are also positions of need.

The problem is when you are picking in those later rounds, it's a total crap shoot. You might get lucky and find a stud but more likely you are just hoping to get some depth players.

This defense needs a serious influx of talent. I'd prefer to use more of our high picks on defense and then maybe look at a guy like Rueben Randle as a free agent for WR opposite Bryant. And I would not waste a first or second round pick on a TB either.

If we have a top ten pick and don't take a QB, I'd hope it was a DT like Nkemdiche or a LB like Smith or Jack. I am leaning towards a stud DT.

This is what i wanted after we played the Pats. Our defensive was looking like they could be something special so i thought all we had to do was fix our offense. That aint the case no more. We need alot especially on defense where we have some of our top players about to enter free agency.

1.) Most on here will agree with this. Majority pretty much praying Lynch or Goff will be their when we pick. If not then their are 3 elite defensive prospects possibly in our grasp in Bosa, Ramsey, and Hargreaves. Miss out on everyone i just named then u put Laremy Tunsil up for auction and u give him to the highest bidder and trade back.

2.) RB is not even a top 5 need at the moment. a great RB would be nice to have but honestly i would not be upset if we went into next year with Turbin, RunDMC, and Dunbar while trying out UDFA's in hope that we find a Thomas Rawls like hidden gem.

3.) This years crop of wideouts is weak compared to last years draft class but i have been keeping an eye on 2 mid round WR that may be steals. Bralon Addison out of Oregon. Has a draft profile similar to Antonio Browns. And Mekale McKay out of Cincinnati who has a similar build and skill set as Josh Gordon. Best rout may just signing a FA WR tho.

#1 Priority is QB because lets say Romo gets all healed up before next season and is pronounced 100% ready (just like this year) all it takes is one hit or hard sack and here we go again.....lets draft our QB of the future now and be ready next time.

The vast majority of picks are a total crap shoot. When was the last time the Cowboys hit a home run in the second round?

I'm not convinced the Cowboys don't address RB in FA. Doug Martin and Lamar Miller won't be getting cost prohibitive money contracts and could fill a need position, save a draft pick and improve the RB situation on the team. I think the Cowboys would lean towards Miller because of his ability to catch the ball out of the backfield, but Martin could be the guy if Dunbar is retained.

If Hardy isn't retained I really wouldn't be shocked if the Cowboys went after one of the upper tier players with the amount of cap space they could have. Maybe they make a run at Josh Norman. Eric Berry or Weddle could be possibilities as well. They've demonstrated over recent years how they will fill holes in FA to better be able to draft BPA.

None of the QB's coming out are any home run picks so I say go after a free agent QB and draft another QB in later rounds to develop. First though draft for defense, best available, then a solid RB in 2-3 rd. (Collins?), then the rest for depth.

Higher round picks are more likely to pan out. If people are counting on fixing the defense by throwing some 5th and 7th round picks at the problems, good luck.

Last great 2nd rounder was 2010 in Lee, who unfortunately, has just had injury issues. I am not ready to write off Lawrence or Gregory, our last two 2nd rounders.

I dont think Hardy will be hard to retain. He is one of if not the most hated player in the NFL right now. No one cares that Brady cheats, or that AP violently beat his child, or that Big Ben has been accused of multiple rape charges. The hate spotlight is on Hardy right now and i feel only 2 or 3 teams(including cowboys) will be interested and even then, we will be only one with a serious offer. I feel he stays and will be a good chunk below market value for a elite 4-3 DE.

Same goes for Rolando. He had no market before the season. add in his suspension with his bad play for a few weeks(seems to now be in football shape and playing up to standards) We may be able to keep an elite pass rusher and a good linebacker for a bargain.

Maybe he does stay. I'm having my doubts about it now. He's been a headache to the coaches and even the Jones' have had to get involved. They may just say he's not worth the hassle.

Yea he has been a headache. That aint no lie but still i have a feeling if hes considerably cheap compared to the alternatives in free agency, Jerry will make a deal. Alot of teams would have had no problem cutting him already and saving money and saving face. At this point its a toss up, but i would not be surprised if he is a Cowboy again next year.

Can you imagine Hardy's attitude if he gets a contract much less than he thinks he deserves? He was supposed to rehabilitate his image this year and cash in next, but he has screwed that off with his selfish attitude. He will be a problem unless he gets what he wants.

Your solutions don't adress the 2 biggest issues we had this year - Romo and Dez getting hurt. Give me a healthy Romo and Dez in 2016 and Cassel with a full year in the system and we win far more than 3 games.

Then he can walk away from NFL and become a bouncer for some strip club somewhere making chump change compared to the tens of millions he can still make in the this league. He did wrong but he can still make some serious bank due to his talent. If he cant see that then its best he moves along. Lol maybe he can join the Canadian football league

BPA for sure, but either through the draft or FA, it would be nice to inject the middle of the D with more talent -- DT, LB, and S.

I understand your point, but a rookie quarterback likely is not going to be ready next year if Romo goes down.
