I was of the opinion last year that any old back can run behind this line. I know longer believe this. If you have a chance to get a work horse, you need to take him, especially THIS team.
I just don't think our schemes lend themselves to an "average" back. I think we need playmakers in every position, including the running back position.

I wouldn't pick Derrick Henry or Ezekiel Elliott in the top 10. But if they drop to the 20s (assuming we're drafting in the top five), I try to jump back into the first round and pick them - Elliott and Henry in that older.

I'd rather spend our top pick on either a defensive player (DT, DE or CB) or a quarterback. We have become so dependent on Romo that I think a reality has been skewed for us. It's ALWAYS about defense. Unless you have a franchise quarterback (and I'm not convinced Goff or Lynch are) available for the picking, then you go defense. How did Carolina get so good and sneak up on everyone? It's because of defense. Our defense basically held Carolina in check for the first half. We gave up 14 points on offense because Romo was doing what Romo has done his entire career - we let the game be about HIM. That is our philosophy. We need to change that philosophy and focus on strengthening the defense even more and return to a running team.

That will not only preserve Tony Romo's career, but it will change the mentality of this team to one where we're going to be smash mouth both on offense and defense.

Your solutions don't adress the 2 biggest issues we had this year - Romo and Dez getting hurt. Give me a healthy Romo and Dez in 2016 and Cassel with a full year in the system and we win far more than 3 games.

Well a healthy Romo in 2016 ? wasn't he a healthy Romo in 2015 ? I think your skating on thin ice.
Romo has become injury prone. He has issues in his back and around the neck area in general.
It's a high probability Romo can nor will he ever play 16 games any longer. He might play 10 and
he might play 2. They need to address the future with a QB and now is the time. Romo is much
closer to being our QB Coach than he is our starting QB. Its time people face the facts. Dez is
still young and will recoup however lack of speed at WR and the ability to stretch defenses has
made our offense undimensional.

The thing is with young QB's in my opinion you draft them and let them play. This is how Jimmy did with
Troy Aikman. They live and learn. This crap about drafting one and grooming them for 3 to 4 years is
total nonsense. Draftem, playem and deal with the consquences. Its how most jobs are in life.

Can you imagine Hardy's attitude if he gets a contract much less than he thinks he deserves? He was supposed to rehabilitate his image this year and cash in next, but he has screwed that off with his selfish attitude. He will be a problem unless he gets what he wants.

This

Hardy will be s problem if he gets what he wants and if he doesn't and our locker room has no one who can reel him in and a jellyfish for HC

let him walk
