Irving and Jones looks to be cornerstones. Add Brown, Collins, Tapper and Smith and now we are starting to build a defense. Need another haul like last year though, or settle for how Atlanta did with their rookies and young players on defense

Love these look back a drafts. Always intersting thanks for posting. We made out pretty well when all was said and done.

I think Irving has the potential to cure a lot of what ill's our defense
Potential and consistent reality have not come together yet but I'm really excited to get someone else on the dline with him and see what he becomes this season
But I agree the real cornerstones on this team are the fat boys on the oline, Dak and zeke

Irving is the standout here. The other (esp Collins who was top 10 bf the murder investigation) and Jones were considered 1st rounders. Hope Irving keeps developing and can snatch that 3 tech spot from Crawford or LE long term. Just play it safe in the 2nd going forward; something tells me that's JJ's round. But no denying McClay is doing something right here.

Saw this on nfl.com and thought I would share. 3 current cowboys go in the first round. Irving goes at 12 and La el collins at 14 even though both went undrafted originally. Our scouting department deserves a lot of credit

If Irving and Collins are top 15 picks, I think it only shows that it is too early to do a redraft. Neither's body of work shows that they belong in the first round yet.

Yeah, I like what Irving has done. But I would rather have Markus Golden at this point (12.5 sks last season) and he somehow didn't make this redraft.

Raises hand,the sad part is he is their perfect pass rusher when it comes to athleticism and they like him pre draft too.

He was a guy that only had 4.5 sks in three seasons at LSU and considered raw. So a late 3rd where he went or 4th made sense for a guy that tests well but didn't have the sack production. A lot of those types don't pan out.

Atlantas def was trash.

25th overall
27th scoring
18th sacks
20th int

They won with offense in the playoffs too, not defense. Atlanta had 1 good half on defense and that was in the superbowl, and we found out how fake that defense was.

I hope Dallas stays away from anything the Falcons are doing on defense.

They were rookies and young guys but if you think Jones, Neal, Ishmael, Beasley, Poole, Alford and Collins are trash then no need talking football with you. They made mistakes but have almost completely rebuilt their defense in just a couple years

I hope Dallas has rookie defense players like Atlanta had this year

Funny how Dallas is a team full of rookies and 2nd yr 3rd yr guys. And when the majority of them were playing because the vets were injured, the defense was playing its best. ATL never sniffed that. They have players who are looking for stats. Dallas has a team playing team def. I dont give a damn about double digit sacks. Ill take Dallas 5th in league in pts allowed to ATL 27th. I think you might want to stick to fantasy football with stats.
