IIRC, he was a 4-3 DT and then the Jags switched him to Strong Side DE this year. He was a backup this year but started 64 of 64 games in prior seasons. At 6'2.5, 295 he seems more like a 3-tech than SDE.

Yes, I like him as a rotational DT. He could play 3-tech or even get in in passing situations along with Crawford (like Melton did).

Shouldn't be expensive and could add to a rotation, IMO.

Was he on Dallas radar during the draft.......god my memory has really gone down hill

Either way I say bring him in for a look if he's cheap

I like the JPP move as long as we draft a DE as well. He'll improve our sacks and fill the position until our rookie(s) can step up, Then JPP provides depth.

Muhasts FA plan:

Cb Buster Skrine
DT Kenrick Ellis
DE Adrien Clayborne
DT Nick Fairley

Those are my top four targets and landing 3 of those would be great.

My top choice is Pernell McPhee (6-3, 280).

I would look at Buster Skrine as a replacement for Carr at CB.

From the games I saw he was very Jekyll and Hyde one series he looks like an all=pro the next he looks like Mo Caliborne with dumb penalties and bad technique and angles. He looked horrible one game against the Titans like 3 PIs and some holds.

:banghead::banghead:Well since apparently suddenly anyone can play running back in the NFL I would wait for all of them to sign except the last two then offer the minimum and see who takes it.

I pulled up the Titans-Ravens game (week 10). McPhee has 1 penalty and that was as a blocked on the extra point. He had a good game on defense. He played 51% of the plays on defense and 30% on special teams.

I was referring to Buster Scrine. McPhee would be a value pick up, I believe he was mid to late round pick. His body of work shows consistency he should show up more consistently on gameday unlike some of the guys already on the team. He does not look to be a flash in the pan like Selvie or mincey.

Gimme Hughes and Paea off of that list. I'd be thrilled.

Draft a Rb in 2 or 3 to be workhorse. Randle as relief.

Give me...
Jason Pierre Paul, DE
Rahim Moore, FS
Perrish Cox, CB

...and two out of our top three draft picks on defense.

I'd also try to sign Rolando McClain to Henry Melton type deal with a huge pay raise in year two IF he stays out of trouble and stays on the field.
