My question is pretty simple ( and I know has been discussed here before) , the first three or so games of 2019 we seemed to employ a great deal of shifts, motion and different concepts.

After about game 4 the offense looks completely different . It looks like the stagnant , "beat your man" 2018 offense.

Did Garrett truly take over and shelve Moore's influence? Or is the answer more complex?

I know it's water under the bridge, and this is pure curiosity, but if Garrett really did go back to his old ways , why? Is he truly that stubborn that he couldn't stand being successful using another person's system?

The ironic thing is that if he had let Moore have 100% control the entire season, He'd probably still be HC.

I don't think Jason Garrett called 1 single play this season - Moore had the play calling chart and from my perspective was the one calling in the plays. The thing about the NFL is there's a lot of technology and once teams get tape on what you're doing - they start adjusting and game planning for your scheme.

My question is why didn't they run the ball to the ride side of the line more - just based on my memory, it seemed like they had a lot more success running right, but chose to run more to the left.

Human nature kicked in. A coach will always use up most of his creative plays early in the season. Trying to get a quick jump on the win/loss column.

But Moore is just as boring and unimaginative as Garrett. So of course their play calling is going to look a like. Dull coach, dull play calling.

JG was all over this. It was obvious. It’s his MO and what he’s done his entire career. Conservative on the road.

Garrett of course had significant imput after game 4. That was when people started harping how good Moore has been for the first 3 games and I bet Garrett got jealous. Took Moore into his offense and had a word or two on what plays to use from then.

What offense?
# 1 in the league who is down in 85% of there games?
An offense that can only abuse teams with losing records and pad its stats in Garbage time.
8-8 now munch on that and keep the bourbon handy!

P.S. We're going to run out of coaches to blame and fire!

Who really knows what happened. Whether it was JG stepping in and taking over, or Moore becoming predictable again, or a combination of the two. No one knows except for them. We can only guess and argue about it...

Moore was running Garrett's offense. It was the same scheme, just with some added motion. Wouldn't have been too hard to figure out.

Garrett's finger prints were all over the offense from week 1. Moore sure didnt help

Clearly JG did not take over the offense. JG was scared to change player personnel on a must have 4th down because that was Kellen's job to take care of that.

I seen some sideline footage of the Vikings game. Which is another reason I wanted Gary Brown out as RB's coach.
It showed him going to Moore and who ever would listen, to keep running Zeke up the middle. Like what was working will work, thinking they will soften up and he will break one.
Well on that last series, sure enough they tried him in the middle again for 2 runs and got nothing. That cost us the game as Moore went way from what was working. Dak and passing.

So I wonder how often did this goofball coach do this in other games. Seems like many others, as you said, why not go right more often. No, run it up the middle every freaking play according to Brown. Glad he is gone.

I don't think there's anything to the "Garrett meddled with the offense" conspiracy theory. If anything, I chalk it up to an inexperienced playcaller having the expected struggles a first-timer would. And I think Moore sometimes was unsure of what to do and may have overthought things and outsmarted himself on occasion. I look forward to what the combination of a proven veteran offensive mind like McCarthy and a young, innovative mind like Moore can come up with together.

So well said! They are all dancing around the major problem.

The change in the offense had nothing to do with creative plays. It had to do with approach. Simply running play action and throwing on first down has nothing to do with creative plays.

JG crippled all of the creativity KM had the first three weeks with his conservative, establish the run garbage.

Remember when the offense absolutely crushed the Vikings and Rams? Pepperidge Farms remembers.

The way you've skewed the offense's performance as a means to disparage Dak is ASTOUNDING.

:hammer:

what grinds my gear is they drafted Pollard as a RB who can play in many WR spots but failed to use him at all, trully we mismanaged our Offense a lot this season.

The playcalling seemed to fall into the same old very predictable pattern. The play designs are easy to defend and the blocking scheme in the running game is not effective. Slow to start games, as usual, and redzone efficiency seemed lacking.

Other than that.....dominant.
