2019 Schedule Differences

This one though should be ok. We play Washington and NY x2, then we play the AFC east. Im counting 7 easy(ish) games without even digging into the schedule.

But I agree we haven't had back to back playoff seasons in forever.
You failed to mention Saints and Rams along with NFC North. Bears and Vikings both playoff teams and dont know what Packers will be. Several potential losses there.

Sure, your glass can be half empty. Every season we have several potential losses. I dont recall having a season in front of us where we had 2 division rivals who appear down and out AND at the same time are playing a weak division like the AFC east.

Its pretty obvious we have some challenging games as well, hell every team does typically.

I wouldn’t describe my glass as half empty . It’s just not half full. Potential losses are what they are.

Would it make you feel better if I mentioned all of the potential wins?

I don't actually care what you say or think buddy. You do you. This has nothing to do with "feelings."

Ill conceed we have tough games on the schedule, as we do every single year.

My only point is its not often we have a down nfc east and get a cake walk division like the afc east. Xoxo

Then why respond in the fashion you did?

What exactly did I say that made you feel like I was stuck in my feelings or had a problem with your comment? That wasn't my intention big fella.

Your half empty glass reference.

It wasnt my intention to be rude, I was only replying to your comment pointing out where my comment failed. There's no right answer anyhow, at least not until next season concludes.

Just because they are playoff teams or potentially does not mean it may be a loss.
Dallas players get paid also to be a potential playoff team and be a potential loss to those teams on the schedule.
Ask Saints fans how they felt about playing us last year. Then look at the results and how they probably felt.

I said “ potential “ loss. Do you understand the difference?

I love the schedule because I want to see the Cowboys up against it. NE, PHL, CHI, MIN, GB, LAR and NO are great matchups right now.

I have never gotten that fear of schedule thing or being happy when an opposing player is out, I want the best game. I want my team to play the best teams, only then do I get to see how they stand up against it. I do not have a problem with my team losing to a better team and I felt LA was the better team and if they'd squeaked by that one, NO would have taken them out.

That's always been my biggest hang up with too many Cowboys fans, can't accept that the other team is the better team. Got to have excuses and scapegoats. There is one word every fan of every team should remove from their vocabulary when talking about upcoming competition, IF. Playing the game removes the "IF" part of it.

Since the re-alignment of the NFL, all 32 teams play 4 games vs. 1st place teams, 4 games vs. 2nd place teams, 4 games vs. 3rd place teams, and 4 games vs. 4th place teams. Based on the prior season order of finish.
Strange but true. We won the East, so that's two games vs. a 1st place team that we wouldn't have to play. We'll face the Rams and Saints to make up for not having to face last year's winner of our division (us) twice.

And it more than makes up, because if you have to play a 1st place team, you'd prefer the familiarity of a divisional opponent.

The schedule does look harder on Dallas than it is for the rest of the division. But is it a tough schedule overall? We should be at minimum 3-1 against AFC East. We got the Vagiants twice, Commanders twice, and the Lions. Those are all very winnable games. If we beat the crap and split with the good teams we're 12-4.

The last three times the Cowboys won the East, we've gone 2-10 the next year when facing the previous season's 1st place teams -- 0-6 in games against the previous year's division winners that we faced due to "positional" scheduling, and 2-4 vs. division winners that we'd have had to play anyway because of "rotational" scheduling.

Agree, it's not as hard as it seems.
We play 6 playoff teams, and one of those twice in the Eagles. We play 7 winning teams, those 6 playoff teams plus the Vikings. Does anyone think the Vikings will be all the tough, or any better than say, GB.

To me the toughest part is how they lay out the schedule. Do we get screwed with a lot of late road games up north in the cold.
Get stuck with like 3 games in 17 days, or 4 games in 21 days or what ever it was.
That is more of a challenge than the teams themselves.

That's 2010, 2015, and 2017.

The team quit on the coach in 2010. Romo got injured early 2015. Dallas is a lot more active this offseason to prevent another 2017 where they did next to nothing leading into that season.

And before that. This is history of that not happening more than there is. But I know enough to say Never Say Never. I wonder if it's every 5 years.

2011, 2008, 2006. A lot of recent history opening up against the Giants.
