Well, obviously, since we are loaded with #2 wrs, next draft should see Jerry and company looking at WRs early........... Anyone have any favorites? AJ Brown looks like the stud of a thin class.
Its hard to tell what we are going to be looking for as far as WR's. It does seem we are moving more towards a sound route runner type that has the quickness to gain separation. I think we have to watch Gallup this year to be able to tell if we need more of a bell cow #1 or more of a complimentary player. Im not saying Gallup needs to produce like a #1 this, but he will show us traits as far as him being a bell cow or a compliment

I'm being kind. We clearly don't have a dominant #1 WR and the cast of #2's is suspect at best. People who like Hurns refuse to acknowledge that J-ville let him go for a reason and it wasn't money.
Hurns could do moderately well as a #2 on a run heavy team, or as a sub package WR. However he is a band aide and not a long term solution.

He will probably play his contract out and be upgraded

My expectations are in line with his draft position. If he can even be a decent #2, its a win. WR will be a top priority next year be it in free agency or the draft.

I agree with big dog. But the three positions I see are WR,TE and safety in any order

you mean back ups right ?
No I am talking about Florida State university and if Deondre Francies is finally going to step up at qb or if Blackmon is going to keep the job after Deondre blew his knee out last yr in the Alabama game. And How Willie Taggert has been winning me over as a coach. Not even talking about Dak and the Cowboys.

Collin Johnson from Texas SHOULD have a great year. He's had flashes of greatness during his fresh and soph years but now should be when he finally puts it all together

Based on the fact this is a bottom 5 WR group in the league and one of the weakest collections of WRs ever to start a season for Dallas.

Based on what, have they played a real NFL game together??

I think Gallup will be at the very least a very good #2 WR, and Hurns has shown the ability to play well in this league when healthy.

I do think this team will definitely look at WR's but I don't know it will be something they will have to go after in the 1st or second round.

See the Cowboys following New England, don't want a #1, and all the cap demands that come with it....

I'd rather keep a d.law than lay out 15 mill for a wr

Teams prioritizing positions and cap commit to them. Ne leading the way

I'm basing it on recent past performance, obviously. It is not a very difficult argument to make unless you are mostly ignorant of what other teams have at the position which seems to be the case here. Your assessment of hurns is laughable. Common, he hasn't done anything in 3 years and was cut by a team with no real depth at the position. Your assessment of Gallup is a best case scenerio and wishful thinking at this point. Basing assessments on what you HOPE someone MIGHT do cannot be taken seriously.

Hurns was cut because of injuries, and money. When healthy he is productive.

Gallup was one of the most productive WR's in college football last year and the reason he fell was because he wasn't in a power 5 conference.

So I think there's promise with those 2 and Beasley.

I know his college stats. They don't matter. Gallup accumulated a lot of fancy stats against a bunch of mediocre college players. So why the heck would his stats matter now? They certainly don't translate to the NFL. I wish the kid the best but............... he hasn't done anything yet. Every team in the NFL has a guy like him they hope blossoms. Just b/c we happen to like the cowboys doesn't make his success any more likely.

I would like Hurns a lot more if Romo was the QB. But i'm not sure Dak is making anyone look good. Again, he's just another guy in the NFL. There wasn't exactly a bidding war for his services when the jags cut him.
