If the Poe contract is ever finalized, perhaps before Christmas, we'll be down to only the top 3 comp picks.

Poe won’t count against the formula. In order to be a Compensatory Free Agent, you must be an UFA after the expiration of the maximum term of your previous contract. Poe opted out of his contract, therefore he did not reach his max term and therefore does not qualify as a CFA.

My understanding is that because Poe's option wasn't picked up, he doesn't factor into the comp equation, same as Fleming for us.
