This is clearly comp for the Wrangler, which is pretty much a POS that kids love. I would have liked to see a larger Bronco, like the OJ model, that is more utilitarian. I am looking to replace my Jeep Grand Cherokee with another SUV but I don't need an off road vehicle. I want something larger and comfy but not necessarily luxury. I once had a Chevy Blazer with vinyl seats and vinyl flooring. It was a 4 speed manual with Chevy's baseline V-6. Loved that car. I could literally hose it down, inside and out, when it was dirty.

SUVs today are barely utility vehicles anymore. The Ford Explorer comes with 3rd row seats and I am not sure you can even remove them or order the car without them. Such a waste of space - and money if you don't need them. I like the Jeep but a lot of silly little things have gone wrong with it over the years mostly because of cheap parts they built it with. And can I complain about design? So many cars today are really difficult to repair. On the Jeep for example, there is a little plastic part, or gear, that turns the vent baffles in the temperature control system. If they break, you lose control of the air temp on the side of the car that has broken. The passenger side gear can be replaced from under the dashboard, although it requires some nimble fingers and a special tool. But the driver side gear requires a complete dismantling of the dashboard and console. It can cost $1500 to replace. The plastic gear costs about $ .50.

This is a little off topic I know but I am frustrated in my search for a new truck.
4WD trucks haven't gotten out of hand, price wise. I just decided to get a Nissan Rogue, AWD. Comfortable, surprisingly nimble, good on gas, dependable, and inexpensive.

I’m also not a fan of the third-row seat craze. I think it makes sense for some people, but to me it’s like having a bathtub; how many times do you actually take an actual bath as an adult? Likewise, how often do you need to roll 7-8 deep to go somewhere? It’s just extra weight.

Have you looked into 4Runners? Five seater, Bulletproof reliability, the one I have has the leathertex seats which are washable.

Expensive now though, aren't they?

I like it. Won't be a buyer any time soon but maybe down the road I'll pick up a 2nd hand one to DD once I go full ****** on my truck.

I like the 2 door, but the 4 door is an easier sell to the wife and kids.

That's a nice looking vehicle. Maybe I will look into it. Is it made in the US?

It doesn’t look expensive at all either, maybe 35K for a loaded 2-door?
was at the honda dealer picking up parts and the rep asked me what I was working on this time lol. Ended up talking about ridiculous new car prices and he brought up the Bronco since he was considering selling his f150 for it, mentioned some models go to $60k (my jaw dropped in my mind) and all I suggested was that he wait a few years if it's a all new ground up model and not recycled from a different chassis. There's always several suckers who pay top dollar for a car just to sell it in a couple of years for much less than new.

$60k for a vehicle, especially a truck/suv is just crazy to me, unless it's towards some dream car of yours.

It's based on the Ranger platform which was based on Ford's euro chassis that's been around for awhile I believe. But I would concur with the general sentiment about waiting a few years. I have zero trust in Ford so if folks are interested I would wait 2-3 years to see what kinks crop up and allow them to fix them.

Ford unveiled the 2021 Bronco yesterday. Legit off-road chops. Looks dope.

And now we must do the news! And it's GOOD NEWS! Ford has revealed a new Bronco! Here it is! A splendid looking car. Only trouble is, it looks quite a bit like a Range Rover. Looks as though Ford is trying to have a go at them and Jeep. Brilliant looking car!

For sure.

I’ve got a 2018 4Runner and the new Bronco has me thinking trade-in.

That said, I’m wary of Ford reliability. I’ve owned two 4Runners and they’ve been absolutely bulletproof. My wife had a 2004 Corolla we put ~225,000+ miles on with no issue before selling it.

I’ll wait a year or two to see what issues crop up with the Bronco (if any).
No doubt.

One of my cars that I refuse to part with is a 1999 Lexus LX 470....which is just an upgraded Toyota Land Cruiser
The thing is indestructible.

Doesn't look at all like a Range Rover
Does look like some other Land Rovers though
