Our free agent class next year is no joke. We have a number of contributors that are up for renewal and we all know that we can't pay and retain everyone.

Here's the full list of FA's - the real question is, who do you retain vs. let go?

Offense:

Connor Williams
Michael Gallup
Dalton Schultz
Cedrick Wilson
Ty Nsekhe
Malik Turner
Noah Brown
Mitch Hyatt
Corey Clement

Defense:

Leighton Vander Esch
Keanu Neal
Dorance Armstrong
Luke Gifford
Brent Urban
Carlos Watkins
Deante Burton
Francis Bernard
Maurice Canady
Jayron Kearse
Damontae Kazee
Randy Gregory
Malik Hooker

ST:

Bryan Anger
Jake McQuaide

These decisions will be left up to the CAP manager for the Cowboys because they will be forced to let many of these players go.

I would love to keep Gallup and Gregory, along with Malik Hooker, but I think they are playing their way to bigger contracts with other teams. Hooker has come on lately and it may convinced another team he is ready to return to the level he was at before his injury.

Anger and MCquaide will not be hard to bring back.
Most of these players can be replaced by other FA's and the draft. Though I would love to have them back as depth. As many of them could be brought back for a reasonable deal, even if a 1 year deal.

Gregory needs to be signed for sure. I think they should try to keep Armstrong and Hooker. Though Armstrong is 50 / 50 for me for now. Maybe Urban for same type of deal. Try for Kearse and Neal possibly.
Williams at LG, 50 / 5- on him also, depends the contract. Same for Schultz.
Wilson over Brown at WR and I am a Noah Brown fan. Turner is showing something also.
Of course Gallup, if they can.

Too many things up in the air right now to decide.
1) How far does this team go? A SB changes everything.
2) What to do with Lawrence ($27M), Cooper ($20M), Elliott ($15M), and Collins ($10M)? Do they get cut or restructured or left alone? How they perform in the playoffs is the biggest factor on what to do in FA? Lot of money can be available if they play well and get restructured.
3) What do the backups look like if said player leaves? How does Fehoko look? How about WR Brandon Smith on the PS? What about Coyle at safety? Alarcon at guard?
4) What is likely available in the draft?
5) What comp pick do the Cowboys get if the player leaves?

Players I would prioritize are Williams, Gallup, Schultz, Armstrong, Gregory, Kearse, Wilson, and Hooker. A lot of the others can easily be signed. Might be some on one-year deals unless they leave for opportunity for more playing time such as Watkins, and Wilson.

Most will not be back because of a tight cap next year, but I will not be surprised if there are FA's willing to come to a playoff contending team next year with team friendly contracts.

If you’re a Super Bowl contender every year maybe you can get away with crappy hometown contracts

Most these guys are going to want to get paid most they can though

Kearse, Gregory, and Anger are probably the only ones coming back. Schultz and Gallup will get contracts way above what Dallas can afford.

Gallup will be too expensive and rightfully so.

Gregory will be pricey but their plans for Parsons at DE might make that easy.

Williams is about what they plan on doing in the 1st round. If they go OT, they re-sign him, OG, they do not. He has an unknown value on the open market.

No team can pay the QB, RB, WR, LT, RG and DE what they're paying and not have to let some good players walk
