This is an easy one for me. I've liked this guy since I started scoping players after the San Fran game: Jalen Moreno-Cropper. The guy is a good route runner with a passion for the game, and his style will translate well to the NFL. My player comp for Cropper is . . . Stephon Diggs. I can see him being the steal of the draft even, because most have him slated as a late round pick or even UDFA, which, to me, just seems crazy.

Statistically, Cropper had more yards than first-round prospect Zay Flowers, who is also one of my favorite targets.

We all likely have several pet cats. But if there was one off-the-radar player you could draft for the Cowboys, who would it be?

And why?

My favorite player by a mile is Devon Witherspoon. I’ve been wanting him on the Cowboys since the mid-point of last season… but he’s going to be a top 10 pick and so I no longer really view him as being a pet cat.

Witherspoon is a beast for sure.

All last season I was hoping that Devon might somehow last to Dallas’ pick… and then the pre-draft process started and it was quickly evident that he is going to go way too early for that.

It makes me sick. Like I felt when I realized Aaron Donald was going to go too early for Dallas.

At least with Donald it was close enough where I was begging Dallas to trade up to get him before he was picked. Witherspoon is going to go so much earlier than the Cowboys pick that a trade up for him can’t even be really entertained.

Ugh. It is upsetting to me.

I re- read your first post and the “off the radar” caught my eye. Since my previous two candidates aren’t off anyone’s radar any more I’ll add the name Darius Rush.
Very willing tackler, great measurable, and when compared to the SC supposed stud in the secondary (Cam Smith) his 2022 numbers are…better. 3-4 round guy without hype right now, but a good player.

Gotta give you props for an original non-chalky take. Moreno-Cropper isn't in the top 20 on the consensus board...and he peaks out at 126th overall player one one notable mock. You'll be a genius if this guy is half as good as Diggs...you'll be smart if the guy even gets playing time as a rookie. But hey, maybe you see something others have missed.

Kobie Turner (DT), Israel Abanikanda (RB), Michael Wilson (WR), and Jack Campbell (LB).
I'll have to check out Turner. Abinikanda, Wilson and Campbell would be guys I'd be interested in as well.

Tui Tuipulotu USC Defensive Lineman

He's a George Karlaftis clone with way better production. He played all over the defensive line and could be an upgrade to Carlos Watkins. NFL.com has him ranked between our first and second round picks at 38.

22 TFLs and 13.5 sacks
