Memo to Spurs … Wemby is out and Fox needs surgery to fully heal. Let the Tank begin.

It’s all in on Flagg!

Three ROYs in a row with Wemby, Castle and hopefully Flagg!

Ok...not an NBA 2024-25 question, but I saw a statement on Twitter and was curious everyone's opinion

Dywane Wade was asked if Luka was Lebron's best teammate and he more or less said, na...we're champions over here, indicating that right now it's him

And I'm curious everyone's thoughts

Luka is viewed as a future MVP...like if he doesn't win one, most people would be shocked

And Dwyane Wade never finished higher than 3rd in voting

But I think he's right. Looking at what Wade accomplished by age 26

Luka's averages are:
28.4 ppg, 8.7 rpg, 8.3 apg, 1.2 sp, 0.5 bpg
Wade's averages were:
23.9 ppg, 4.8 rpg, 6.5 apg, 1.7 spg, 0.9 bpg

In addition, by the same age he had an all defensive second team (2005) and a NBA Finals MVP (2006)

Obviously Luka hasn't passed Wade as far as career accomplishments, but is Luka better than Wade at the same age?

These discussions are so tough because the way the game is played these days. It’s so face paced and three point reliant that stars are inflated. No one considers Westbrook to be anything close to one of the best yet his stats and triple doubles would make you think that.

I’d take Luka over Wade but would those Heat teams win with Luka over Wade? Not sure. Wade was the perfect teammate for LeBron as was Bosh. Better player is one thing but better teammate may be a different answer.

See…when considering Wade’s full body of work to include 2012 and 2013, it’s Wade and not close.

But Wade was 30 and 31 those years

Im not sure if Miami beats Dallas in 2006 if they have Luka instead of Wade just because of how good Wade was defensively

Luka is substantially better than Wade at the same age.
Wade didn't make All NBA 1st team til he was 27.

Is Luka currently as good as Wade at his peak? No.
Luka hasn't been 100% this season and likely is just now rounding into his best physical condition.
He's been maybe the 20th best player in the league this year after finishing 3rd last year in MVP.
But the season isn't over, and Luka gets better as the season wears on every year.

The Luka defense stuff is largely nonsense.
Luka allows a team to play very large, minus a secondary shot creator and he rebounds it so well that it makes team defense MUCH easier.
Thats why he has been on multiple good defensive teams and advanced far into the playoffs multiple times already.

Wade averaged less than 5 assists for his career.
He was a score first Guard and that was a limiting factor to his game.
He was more a tweener than true point guard.
