1. Evaluate the progress of Trey Lance, how close is he to being an NFL starter based on preseason performance?
2. Find a legitimate running mate for Zeke Elliot. Is Malik or Rico a real answer? Did the Cowboys make an UDFA steal at RB with Nathaniel Peat? Has Vaughn gained a significant amount of strength, enough to earn an appropriate number of carries?
3. Prepare O-line rookies for starting positions, develop cohesion. Evaluate the progress of Luke Schoonmaker and competition between Hendershot, Schoonmaker, Fant, and Spann-Ford.
4. Develop run defense using internal D-linemen and LBers. Determine reserve DB's among Scott, Wright, Thomas and Carson. Prepare rotation DE packages using Kneeland and Williams.
5. Adapt to any injury issues and maintain consistent improvement.
