Did something happen or just SAS being SAS? I already have my guy who says "off the cuff" stuff and entertains me with his analysis, his name is Charles Barkley. I hate when websites lump his game analysis with the ex-players. You can always spot the SAS comment.

His act is just getting old and tired but It probably doesn't help that he works for ESPN, which is owned by Disney and SAS spends quite a bit of time with his conservative buddies over on Fox News.
 
Flagg questionable tonight with an "Illness" and now this. Looks like tank mode has officially been activated in the Dallas front office.


 
The tank is on! Seems like the only way to build a winner these days in the NBA. I bet more NFL teams would do it too if the trade deadline was later. Much less games, so you can't blow up your revenue early but if the trade deadline were Week 12, I think you'd see some serious tanking.

If they can get out of his contract, would still love to see him SA. I thought Kornet was an underrated depth signing, but watching him with starter minutes and Vic out is painful.
 
Good win for Celtics last night against red hot Pistons. I think they're hoping for same thing Mavs did with Irving, and trying to hold out and hopefully get Tatum full strength back before Playoffs.

DeAaron Fox doing a great job holding down fort for Spurs while everyone is out. Harper came back last night. I believe he would be on track for ROY if not for the sudden injury. He was getting better FAST.
 
How’s 5-15 working out in Dallas . To not even make the playoffs is hard to do in the NBA but that’s where this is headed . At least with Dirk then Luka some hope existed . How many years away is this project

They are 5-15 because of injuries. AD is injury prone so can’t excuses that but Kyrie is much needed.

Pride is a terrible thing.

Luka had already proven the year before that he could take a team to the championship game.

Luka was ailing last year. And just for the record at the time of the trade, their record was 24-29 and they were within striking distance of making a run for a playoff spot.

5-15 is a far cry from that.
And currently the Lakers record is 15–5. We can probably assume that the Mavericks would have a closer record to that this year. Definitely more than just 5 wins at this point.

Oh they were better with Luka. I’m just saying they sucked a little less then.

There’s nothing about pride.

The Luka trade was bad.

I don’t think trading him was bad however.

I believe Nico has the foresight what the league was becoming. The Mavs with Luka could not beat that Thunder team. Even the year we beat them I was shocked s did but I knew that was gonna be our last time.

And im not as attached to Luka as other fans were I get he meant a lot to some of you and I have seen people say they’d rather lose with him then win without him. I get it.

I like how this team is currently built. I’m high on Flagg. I’ve never seen a 18 year old with his skill set and how smart he is since Lebron. Wish we could’ve had him and Luka.

That was the deal with the devil…..give the league a relevant Lakers team in Lebrons final season/s and you get Flagg.
Otherwise, you might’ve been picking 4th.

Ha the Mavs got less for Luka, a bonafide top 3 player in his prime, than OKC got for Paul George….an all star sure but probably not even top 10. I don’t think you can make that trade unless you are undoubtedly trying to tear down and rebuild for the future in which case you don’t take back a broken AD or keep a broken Kyrie….and you take the Lakers first round pick for the next ten years.

You are right and i think Flagg is gonna be the best in the draft but aye Knuepple looks damn good too. Very nice class.

Should’ve never dealed with the Lakers. They never had enough to get Luka smh.

David is a top 10 talent he just has to stay healthy. Which is tough. There’s not many better players who can play as good as him on both sides of the ball.

That was definitely some backtracking after the fact trying to save face.

In the days and weeks following the trade, you were absolutely celebrating it and saying how smart of a move that it was. There are many here that can certainly corroborate this as well.
