Now that I think about it you're probably right. I'm still upset he got in the Nuggets heads and threw them off their game.
I rem that he was drafted high by the Wizards.
I'll give him another look.

I don’t think they need a star. Inthink they have the guys. I think it’s Harper and Castle. Not now but their time is coming….next year they will be a true threat. Harper is a dog. It’s not flashy but he’s a dog. I think I underrated him initially.

He wasn’t. Ayton too. So yeah I’m excited about the draft and adding a good talent and great prospect. Hopefully ends up being a star.

At the end of the day I’m trying to make the playoffs. There’s no player in this draft that was gonna make us good as OkC. So crying over what could’ve been is pointless.

Not just OKC, but Utah will be considerably better. They actually were probably a play-in team this year, but they took the tank route. SA (with a healthy Wemba) will probably be the team to beat in the west over the long haul. More than likely the Mavs will not be in contention until after 2031 when they will retain their first round picks and the new FO making smart(not idiot moves ie Nico)

With a top 4-5 pick this year the Mavs probably would have moved the 2031+ timeline in much sooner. However, there's still a possibility with the 9th pick they move in sooner than 2031, but those odds are slim compared to if they gotten a top 4-5 pick.

They certainly may improve in the future.

But how long will Wemby remain healthy? Those other players are nothing without Wemby. He makes all of them better.

Tall guys with Wemby’s body structure tend to have very in and out careers with constant nagging injuries. I would be shocked if he plays for the next 10 to 15 years and doesn’t have regular physical problems and injuries of some sort or another.

Wemby has the rookie of the year from last year and the 2nd player taken in last years draft on the team. Spurs and Wemby are very fortunate to have had that chance

Yeah I just disagree. Utah stinks and will continue to stink because they have no idea how to win just tanking. Everyone is playing for second place or last.

T Wolvrs are contending right now with just one star. You just never know what can happen with good coaching and solid personnel.

Not sure. Wemby is a freaky. But they still got some young players who will get better.

Utah really only been bad for the past 3 seasons. They will either add Peterson or AJ to their squad, and also keep in mind that Jackson Jr who only played 1 game for them last year will be playing a full season. ( He was added during the trade deadline)

A fully healthy Utah team that has nothing to tank for (with the new rules) and will probably be a force in the Western Conference. I'm not saying they are going to be the best, but I can see them being at least a play-in team that will probably be far better than the Mavs over the course of the next 4-5 years.

T Wolvs weren't in the same hole as the Mavs. They didn't trade a top-end player for peanuts while building around that player and while trading away picks and other bad moves. If the Mavs didn't get Flagg from last years draft they would for sure be bottom basement dwellers in the West for the next 10-15 years. That's how much damage Nico caused the Mavs.
 
After today Burries in the back court to help Flagg up front seems the best option .

Naw he's not there yet (McDaniels). Edwards has Naz and Randle to back him up for now. McDaniels is gonna have to earn the praise. I do think he has the skills to develop into a good player. I know you like his mentals, but he's a bit too light in the butt to be getting into it with players like that Joker dude.
I just don't understand how I could forget that Anthony Edwards is on this team. Lol, and as long as he's on this team he's the heart of it.
I guess I better cut back on the grog when I'm watching the games from now on.
