Assets like taking on guys like Beef Stew and Caris Levert isn’t serious either.

Not sure what planet you live on but having late first rounders do nothing for thiss teams future. I know Ujiri works magic but giving away vets for the sake of doing it isn’t smart IMo. I trust whatever route Ujiri takes. I suspect they want to get what they can for Kyrie but those deals

Technically, Cuban could have signed him way before it got to that point. Brunson was willing to take less, but Cuban held serve and it back-fired.

It’s the Micah situation…he would’ve “played for less”…but he wasn’t. The rumors he wanted to go to the Knicks were going around for awhile at that time. It was the most unkept secret in the league.
 
Thunder just too deep. Normally you need a 8 man rotation. Thunder has 12. I Think some of us knew the Spurs just a year away from contending for real. They are putting up a good fight and getting some much needed experience. They are going up against a potential dynasty.

I've just never seen a team this deep as long as I have been watching NBA.

Agreed.

Wemby is getting tired, and his surrounding team is nowhere near good enough to carry them to a win.

On the other hand….SGA has been having an off series, but he has a well rounded team that steps up when the MVP needs them to.

Yeah SGA is so weird I didn't even think he had that great of a game and I looked up and he had 30 in the 3rd. Easy to take his game for granted. Truly one of the best in the league.

And yeah Wemby doesn't look dominant as he should. I don't know if he's gassed or what.

In comparison Ajay probably has been their 2nd best player in this playoff run...and J Dub is their actual second best player....and they didn't miss them. That's scary.
 
Whelp ....... very excited about the future of the Spurs.

They need to build a bench and need a power forward or another big to play with Wemby.

SGA had the quietest 32 points ever.

It’s strange when we think that a player had a bad game, and he still puts up 30+.

Truly an incredible player.

Can anyone envision a world where anyone other than SA and OKC are playing in the WCFs between now and the year 2031? I have a hard time imagining that, barring injuries.
lol Lakers can hire a rocket scientist, bring Jordan back from retirement and they are still probably getting swept for the foreseeable by those two teams.

As an aside, how fortunate is Jarred McCain? From a garbage situation on a losing team to midseason trade to a contender to the WCF and becoming pivotal and now starting and scored 20+.
JW out, Ajay rolls in, Ajay out, McCain rolls in…who has that kind of depth? Ridiculous. And Wiggins is still on the bench when he was that guy last year.

Isiah Joe and Wiggins can’t even get on the court. These guys would be in the Spurs rotation right now. Oh and btw, they have their 1st round pick who just recovered from
Cancer and have two top 17 picks that im

I honestly don’t unless injury happens but even then I’m not sure if that will stop Thunder.

With Spurs the difference is Wemby. I think he’s taking his lumps now but is just gonna get better and more consistent. But we will see how the Knicks handle them. If the Knicks compete maybe there’s hope.

But this is why I had no issue with trading Luka. I don’t think a Luka led team can compete with these two. I didn’t even see the Spurs coming or this fast I just felt that way about the Celtics and Thunder. Who knows what else is popping up because some teams have been bad so long if they get a start their fortunes may change but yeah it’s a Spurs and Thunder right now.

Yeah it’s crazy and I absolutely don’t think the OKc-SA series is by any means over, could still see it going either way…but yeah if you match up those two sets of starters, I’d probably take SA, but the bench for OKC is insane. I’m pretty sure OKCs second/third five would make the playoffs and beat the Lakers.
I don’t know how OKC is up and we haven’t really seen their second best player play this series.

Keep in mind that some people thought this way with that powerhouse Boston team from the 2023-2024 squad.

Oh I don’t either. Spurs need to win 2 in a row. But take it one game at a time and who knows. Objective is to get back to OKC and anything can happen. We’ve seen both teams dominate each other.

We haven’t seen J Dub and honestly Ajay Mitchell was playing like their second best player.
Just insane.

I think why I like the Thunder is they didn’t star search. They have a lot of good players. Sga is a star and J Dub and Holgrem are all stars….but then you have the guys who do the dirty work. Just good players. Cason Wallace isn’t the tallest guy to the best handles but he’s a great role
Player. It gives you hope in roster building despite the Thunder nailing every single move they make. Even trading for McCain. Getting Hartenstein and Caruso. They just don’t fail lol.
