The colors are apart of the old spurs fiesta logo, its a nod to the history of San Antonio and the old logo
Yes and I hate it. It reminds me of when David Robinson and those teams were getting punked by Hakeem Olajuwon in the Playoffs. It's nice having the big man this time who takes it personal with the MVP trophy going to someone else. And I'm pretty sure we have a losing record or at least a .500 record in this year's Playoffs when the fans "Fiesta Out" instead of black out, so they should abandon it as quick as possible. LOL
I wonder if the Timberwolves are having buyers remorse now on that trade of KAT for Randle. I know who I would rather have playing against Wemby. A lot of regret with the team the Knicks have built. Very impressive that it's all from trades and free agents. All their starters could have been getting big minutes on their former teams if they had been just a little bit more patient and maybe some better coaches.
Been saying it all year after watching the regular season games, but Knicks were the matchup I feared the most. I'd like to say I'm not worried because the Spurs played like crap and still almost beat them until the final quarter. Spurs couldn't sink any of their shots until Knicks decided to leave Champagne wide open for those three pointers. Haven't seen Spurs give a way a lead like that in a while. But Knicks also came out rusty with that 8 game rest and didn't really pick it up until the second half, so both teams can play better.
When Wemby plays big, the Spurs win. Simple as that. He looks good on the box score, but that was not his best game at all. I hope he can figure out how to play closer to the rim with KAT in his way. I look forward to Coach Mitch's adjustments in game two, but I think the team just needs to sack up and not play tired. They're almost all 24 and younger. That was another fear of mine posted here. The Spurs and Thunder going to beat each other up and whomever makes it in seven games gets to bring their tired injured team to New York. I think the Spurs will respond and win Game 2, but not as confident about the Spurs winning this series as I was the Thunder series.
One thing with a young team like that is Coach Mitch needs to use his timeouts better. This team doesn't know any better. They were either winning with Wemby (post injury Wemby) or nothing else. You can see the reaction sometimes when they are in those end of game situations that veteran presence helps. Their guiding vet is De'Aaron Fox who doesn't look like he has much left with that injury. That's why I don't worry bout the Thunder getting their #2 ball mover and scorer back next year. Not like we had ours either.
