This year Spurs remind me a lot of 2012 Thunder….arriving earlier than expected, star studded roster of youngsters, doesn’t matchup well at all in the finals, loses a game or two they should’ve won. Question is whether or not they will follow the same fate in subsequent years.

Hard to decide who the villains are…… Spurs players for cheap shots or NYK fans for their “the Purge”-like behavior to Spurs fans.

Either way, Wemby a missed two crucial free throws late... you can't talk about this collapse without him getting his share of the blame

Taking all of those threes, with a ton of misses in the second half, prevented the Spurs from milking the clock. This was instrumental in the Knicks ability to make their epic comeback.

When the majority of those shots were taken, more than ten seconds remained on the shot clock.

In combination with the decision to not ride Wemby hard in the second half, all led to the collapse of the Spurs.

All of this information was pulled from the analysis given by NBA HOFs.

Although I think Barkley is a moron, I do agree with his breakdown.

Barkley always complains about teams that always jack 3s. I don’t think that’s a coaching problem to be honest. They missed a ton of good looks in the 2H. They weren’t taking bad shots. Those were shots they were hitting that at 60% clip in the 1H. But I’m not complaining haha. I am a Knicks fan

No.

Brunson is awesome for sure.
But he by far has a MUCH better team around him than Luka EVER had.

He is overrated too. A good example of a player whose stats were inflated by playing for a bad team. San Antonio should trade him once they are ready to give Harper the reigns full time

It’s his first deep playoff run - he hasn’t experienced this before. The Spurs arrived a year too soon. Next year will be different.

I also don’t buy it as a mistake. It’s a layup. He wasn’t going to be able to dribble all the time off the clock - he was being fouled. Taking what should have been an automatic two points versus going to the line for two free throws is the right play IMO. Either way NY was getting the ball back with time left. Take the more automatic points. It just was a great defensive play. It happens. That’s not why they lost.

And the Spurs have no reason to trade him. Their extensions for Castle, Wembayama, and Harper are a few years down the road.

They've both led their teams to the finals. If Brunson and the Knicks when the championship--Brunson gets the nod.

I mean I can see that. But Brunson has been doing this for some time even before KAT got there. He had Julius Randle, Bridges and Donte. Luka has had some good players around him. The championship run he has a very good supporting cast. I mean he had prime Kyrie.
