2025-26 NBA Season

They made the finals with Luka and got throttled by the Celtics. Even that year you knew T Wolves and Thunder were right around the corner. What I didn’t know was the Wolves would trade KAT and the Spurs would get Harper.

The league is moving away from teams led by guys like Morant and Trae Young. All of these teams now have 1-5 have guys who can D it up and are athletic and score. It’s going to be tough to build teams around Steph or Harden or Luka going forward.

They “ got throttled “ ? What . They made the finals with Luka and now can’t even win 25 games in an 82 game season .

Thank goodness Cuban is nowhere near the controls anymore . A classic Jerry like example of an owner way too involved . Sign the checks and get out of the way . The problem is the ownership situation is possibly worst however they did seem to hand it over to basketball people .

I’m going with Caleb Wilson/Christian Anderson as my reasonable picks.

In my fantasies, Boozer slips… but I’ve long accepted that won’t be the case.

This is predicated on the belief that my first guard options won’t be available at 15.

Well we know they did a soft tank last year. They also haven’t played with Kyrie in a year.

And yeah they got the brakes beat off them by Celtics.

The year they traded Luka they were 26-24 and he missed a gang of games and they were 13-9 with him. I’m not saying that justifies trading him but it’s not like they were playing great that year.

I don’t think the owners give a damn. I think they’d prefer to just write the checks. I’m not entirely sure what their deal is they don’t need the money or the headache.

Cuban was way too involved . The new ownership group oversaw the exiting of Luka and for better or worst whatever you thought of him at least Dallas was in the conversation in the West . Now they are yearly participants in ping pong tournaments.

Kyrie is not the future or the present . This new Mavericks Sheriff in town needs to dispatch him hopefully for some worthwhile draft capital keep building around Flagg and this years 9 .

Exactly. This whole thing that “Luka can’t win a championship” is complete garbage nonsense. He literally took his team to the finals the year before, and he was only a few games away from winning.

Before these last playoffs, I would’ve said that Brunson could never lead a team to a championship. And then all of a sudden he does that exact thing. So how on earth can you say that Luka can’t do it when he was literally recently in the finals, and he led the league this year in scoring average?
Literally everyone "can't win a championship" until they do

Watch, let the Spurs not win in 2027 and that narrative will follow Wemby... which it think is stupid

I agree... just from a basketball fans perspective, I want to watch Kyrie play basketball on a championship contender

But right now... he has value. That value will probably increase up to the trade deadline, once teams know he's recovered... but if he isn't dealt by the deadline, he'll be a 35 year old PG the next time he can be traded and his trade value will begin to fall.

The Rangers have a wonderful shortstop who was a huge part of helping them win a WS in 23 but now Corey Seagar can’t stay healthy . He’s expensive and unhealthy not a good combo . This is Kyrie Irving . The sooner the Mavericks and the Rangers move on from these once wonderful players the sooner the rebuild will happen .

Yearly lol? It’s been what? One year since trading Luka lol?

How is Kyrie not the present?

If Mavs were smart they’d hold on to him and wait to trade him by the All Star Break. It’s risky but I wouldn’t trade him now. I mean unless something crazy is available like the 5th pick in a he draft.

Wilson going 9 is hilarious. Mara going 6 is also hilarious.

Mara is going to go earlier than he should. I hope he is gone by 15. Push more talent down.
Yeah not sure why Wilson dropped and Mara went up but I’d love for it to happen lol. Acuff at 10 is nuts too Mavs need to trade back up in the draft to get him if he goes that late lol

I don’t see it that way. I’m like 99.9 percent sure Welby can win a ring lol. Anyone who can score and guard and is a superstar id say they have the edge.

Only thing is if Wemby continues to have stamina issues in the 4th that’s a fair assessment.
