2025-26 NBA Season

That’s the worst trade ever. Castle is way more valuable than Curry. Fox for Curry is a good straight up trade. Johnson and a pick or two is also a good trade. No way the Spurs give up all that for Curry.
I don't think Fox for Curry... even given Curry's age, is something GS should consider

What honestly has me still wondering, is why didn't SA push for a Giannis trade harder last offseason. Maybe MIL wasn't ready yet... and in hindsight it would have cost them last years #2 so Harper... but I think a Wemby and Giannis pairing would have swept through everyone this past year

Bro, Fox for Curry is not even remotely close to equal value.

Think that depends on the direction the Spurs want to take. If they want to take the (NFL Rams) approach they could include someone like Castle for Curry to possibly win the title. For example, Rams over some years have traded future assets for older MVP type players to obtain a Super Bowl win. It worked for them in the past and I believe they are trying it again this year. (Myles Garret trade)

Got to admit that Curry playing along side Wemby would be hell for the rest for the league. That could be enough to win them a title
Trading Castle for Curry is counterproductive. He’s a big reason why they are a threat. Spurs aren’t stupid.

Spurs have youth on their side. Don’t need Giannis. Gianni’s and Wemby can work but Im not sure how much better it would be for them to give up core players for him.

I would agree with that if the Spurs were in a rebuilding mode, but they're not. If they had Castle as part of a trade for Curry it would come with some risk, but it's an high upside reward if it works.

It's pretty much a possible NBA title with mortgaging the teams future. Like I mentioned, it could work for some teams it might not for others.

A good example is from the NFL where the Rams traded away Jared Verse who's 25 ( all pro stud) for a older (30-All world) Myles Garret + 2027 first round pick and a 2028 second rounder and a 2029 3rd rounder. From a future prospect stand point the Rams got hosed, but if they win the SB this year that will have made it worthwhile for them.

The Spurs made it to the finals with Castle. They have Harper who looks like he’s on the trajectory to being a top 5 point guard spurs don’t need Steph. It would be fun to watch but the Spurs super powers are their youth and defense. Vassel and Castle guarding the perimeter makes it tough for every team in the league.

But it’s just a bad overall trade.

I agree. I do think trading for Curry would be smart. But they should trade him for Fox, a role player and some draft picks. It’s a win-win. The Warriors need assets to rebuild. They’re not gonna win anything with Curry.

I mean... as a Knicks fan, I'm confident in saying the Spurs would have won last year with Giannis

I don't think we'd have an answer for Giannis and Wemby, and Giannis' perimeter defense let's Wemby stay in the paint more and alter shots. Like I know it's one play, but if you look at the OG tip in, Wemby was guarding Brunson 30 feet from the basket, which left OG, Kat and Hart available for rebounds and put backs.

I think it costs them Harper, but I think they could have kept Castle but at this point, it kinda doesn't matter

I don’t think Sours are as good honestly. If Spurs didn’t keep trotting Fox out there and gave Harper 35 minutes a night series
Might’ve went differently as well.
