I agree. People give Barkley the excuse for being on a bad team. Fred was on one most of his career and was durable.
not sure he should be in the HOF but a lot of fine players languished on bad teams

Elvin Bethea was a great DT for the Oilers for years when they were truly horrendous
I remember watching him get double and triple teamed all the time and still made plays
And he deserved to be in the HOF and was elected; I had worried he might not get in

clearly you are not a real Cowboy Fan

Too Mean is what Harvey Martin was nicknamed when playing with Too Tall
I always suspected you were not a real fan just a Dak Bot
Oh yeah I’ll have to ask my grandparents if they remember that nickname.

Everybody gets in now. Ricky waters? Seriously? Fred taylor? It used to mean something to be elected into the Hall of Fame and now it means almost nothing.
Exactly. :hammer:

It is a spectacle and a NFL money grab from fans of those teams and players.
Now some do deserve it, many are questionable.

Now Darren Woodson deserves to be in, based on his accomplishments compared to others that are in.

Joe Namath if based on stats alone, would not make it in. But at the time, his SB prediction and celebrity QB status got him in. Back when it was really getting started. One could see that. But not now.
Basically win a SB you will eventually get in. Or be the leader in stats if you have not won a SB. Like Dan Marino. Yes, he belongs in the HOF.

I stopped watching the inductions years ago, unless a Dallas player. Then I watch their speech later and not so much live. As I do not want to waste my day on all the other hoopla.

I’m not a real fan. Just a Cowboy fan. I’m also not in the mood to argue over who’s a “real fan” you are and I’m not. I’m fine with that man lol. I’m an adult I can’t argue over something so stupid lol.
wah wah wah
go ahead and suck your thumb
real COWBOY fans know this sort of thing

Different eras. From the 2000s on find a QB who is in the HOF without a ring?
Oh, NOW you move the goal posts. There have been three QBs put in the HOF since 2000 that did not win a SB

And the so called different era garbage is just a cop out

No doubt Joe got in in spite of his career as a player.

Nope...those guys simply got nominated to be considered. Not so fast.....not in.....just nomination eligible.
They don't even need to be nominated. At this point the Hall of Fame is becoming a participation trophy award. It should be reserved for the best of the best, not the really good. It's ridiculous.

Jim Plunkett won two. Why is he not in?
That could be on the local teams media not pushing the issue. Not sure if it works the same as it used to.
But a media member, from a local paper, for the team the player made his most significant contribution is to give the other voting media members a presentation as to why they belong in the HOF.

Now the person for Dallas, can't remember his name. He had this vote for years and years.
So when a Dallas player was consistently denied, he did not give a very convincing presentation. I think he disliked Dallas to a degree and possibly sabotaged them.

I say that, because when he gave it up and Chareane, last name Williams I think, took over. More Dallas players started to go in.
I do not know if she still does it or if someone else now, since she is no longer with that media outlet.

Was that Goose?

I remember more than a few people saying that the Dallas rep presentations for Cowboys players were not good.
