Kaleb Johnson, Treyveon Henderson, Skattebo

I want one of them.
Love all 3.

Skattebo is likely going to go much higher than anyone anticipates.

I like Johnson, but he doesn’t offer us much in pass catching and pass protection.

Henderson has some durability concerns that may see him drop a bit.

Like I said though, super happy with any of them.

Not saying you're wrong, but another way to look at it is we will probably see a round 2/round 3 run on RBs....If you do like a round 1 or 2 RB it might open you up for a value pick from a player that dropped unexpectedly due to the run on RBs. Its certainly the riskier way of looking at it, but with the Cowboys having needs at several positions its not a horrible gamble if they like a lot of those non RB players projected to go in the 45-60 range.

I'm not sure the RB depth this year is bad news for anyone....other than free agent running backs.
I think thats something people forget when you talk about deep classes. It wont push talent down as much as people think. It usually mean big runs, but in places players were expected to go. It increases the chances of value, but absolutely doesn't guarantee it

This draft could have as many as 8 off the board by our 3rd round. We'd be lucky if its only 5

The 2020 class is a good comparison. It was historically deep (1996 is probably the only one better). 3 100 catch WR's. However only 1 player taken outside the top 70 has more than 200 career receptions right now. Darnell Mooney

He would be a starter on most SEC teams. Talent doesn't disappear just because you play in weak conferences.
The NFL is full of great players from non power conferences.
My point is that he did not have a good showing against PSU.

I'm not saying he's not good enough to play in the SEC. He might even lead the SEC in rushing. But, he's not running for 2000 yards in the SEC.

About 30% of the NFL is non-power 5 schools. 3 conferences make up 58% of the league. So, lets not pretend its all equal and talent is evenly spread out across the college landscape. If Jeanty played in the SEC, he would be facing multiple legit NFL prospects every week on defense. Not so in the Mountain West.

Last year was a good class and it pushed a prospect like Braelon Allen all the way to the 4th.

This is an even better class so I think the 4th round is going to be the sweet spot for us. Would need to use comp picks to trade up.

Tough choice but Kaleb Johnson is a brute and he had very little space to run in college.

I just think he’s the horse we need.
Johnson was pretty much all Iowa had for offense so every team was keying on him.

this is the only way. Only a few of us believe this. Unfortunately Jerry doesnt believe it. Nick bolton should be here first day of free agency but of course he wont.
Or Dre Greenlaw, matter of fact, have both of them in at the same time.

Just like last year, Jerry, trashed the 4th round pick that could've been Allen. 49ers picked a SS with the Cowboys 124th pick and Allen went 134th pick. Also, sadly Allen's teammate RB Isaiah Davis 1 pick before the Cowboys selected Calean Carson...ouch.

I'd go back to watching cowboy games on a regular basis if they even got one of them. If they got both I'm locked in. Defense would potentially be elite unlike the smoke and mirrors types 2021-2023
This is the only path forward. Defense needs to be elite and we need depth. The offense needs a rb and the rest of the draft should be defense.

We’ve got a ton of 5th round comp
picks so I think getting into the 4th would be pretty easy. Also think there will be some good options in the 5th.

The last time I seen Gordon play he was throwing a temper tantrum on the sideline and slamming his helmet on the ground because the Longhorns totally shut him down.
Ya, not a fan. Watched him twice and came away thinking they should bench him.
