One year probation
Correct brother. They took the red card completely off the books going forward for this World Cup, so he starts anew with no penalties accrued. If Balogun gets a yellow card, he still gets to keep playing until he gets a second yellow card. The compensation for getting rid of the previous red card is a one year probation status for a whole year after the World Cup finishes.

My main point is if the player taking the penalty hits it well, the goalie has little chance. The goalie is at a big disadvantage. Even with your example, that's just luck. You can't blame him for not being lucky.
I disagree 100%.

Looking into it more, they did not remove the red card. All they did was, like you said, suspend the suspension.

Well really from an American perspective you want him the rest of the cup competition after that well a February match in S Korea no one is really concerned . It’s right the wrong the ref did now and like you said I would think if he’s headed for a collision or a tangle he’s got to somehow avoid it right now .

I’m glad you cleared that up . That’s most fans concerns the Cup matches .

I thought Mexico at home would win . Quite a road victory for England . For whatever reason Mexico has never seemed to climb the heights of say Brazil and Argentina storied teams of the past .

From my American Football opinions . . .

Defense Wins Championships, and in this game England had great Defense ! ! !

The defense was amazing the last 30 minutes. Mexico was too small and didn’t have the top striker to get it done. Great great match.

I am on the Norway bandwagon. Elite striker, playing well, goalie… they got something going.
I only root for the US. I don't mind if Norway wins. They got the viking fans rowing. It's all cool. I'm just looking for good matches. England, Norway, Colombia and Argentina. I don't think any are that much better or worse than the other. I haven't seen the Swiss play, so I can't comment.

I was just remembering some of the classic games between the UK and Argentina.

To be clear I am all in on the US. America always. That said I kinda like this Norway team.

I'm a casual, but a friend explained it to me pretty well-- Mexico can produce talent that succeeds on the global stage at the youth level. However, they grow up and don't typically leave Mexico because Liga MX is a very comfortable landing spot. While it's lucrative and well run, it just doesn't have the same level of competition as Spain, England, and Italy/Germany, and therefore the talent kind of stalls out.

Honestly though, Mexico looked like one of the premier teams in this World Cup right up until Bellingham scored two goals in 2 minutes. Before that, they had England on the ropes. And bizarrely, they became extremely unimaginative in their attack over those last 20 minutes with the man advantage.

Hats of to England, though. What an incredibly tough win.

No. Weve had an easy run so far and have landed on our feet getting Norway in the quarters but that is as far as we'll get.
I see a path to the final.

England is better than Norway, and Argentina has not put forth a world class effort that I've seen just yet (though I think they get past Egypt and Colombia).
