I agree but I understand why they do it. They are allowed to do it.

Why should Mendoza throw at the combine? What does he have to gain? Until he has something to lose you'll keep seeing this.

Anybody interested in a 5'8" cornerback?

The size is the size — there’s nothing Ponds can do about that. An NFL scout told me during the season that Ponds stood 5-8 1/4 and 174 pounds with 29 5/8-inch arms, so I expect his combine measurements to be close.

But I’m more interested in his on-field performance. He was a state champion in the 100 meters (10.37) and should perform well in position drills.

Its all about maximizing their draft pick. So I can understand why they do it. Try and hide their shortcomings as much as possible.
I might be wrong here, but I think the guys that put it all out there every chance they get will get more consideration.
