I think he would have been an OLB who moves inside in the nickel. His run defense would have been a plus for us.

I don’t know if Bain will overcome his arm length and lack of elite speed. However, I like his power, punch and bend.

I think Lawrence is more reliant on his speed, which will allow OLs to use that against him until he adds some power to counter. His upside is much higher.

Based on the last 3 years, if you can block for him and have a decent OC Geno is solid and can spin it.

Look into Chip Kelly last year, reports said he would forget plays and call the wrong ones. He was a disaster, that whole staff was. Not to mention they had literally the worse OL in the league.

Very few QB’s good enough to overcome bad coaching AND a bad OL. No real weapons outside of Bowers also.

Yeah I think Bain and Thieneman OVERALL would be better for us than Downs and Lawerence. Better edge play, and a little less safety play but I think Dillon is dope and will be great at free or nickel, and Thompson the kid from Arizona with him is plenty….Bain would help our rush better than Downs would help safety and overall D. Imo at least!

That is a simplistic view of that trade. It doesn’t consider the second-rounder we don’t have this year because of the Quinnen trade.

Nor does it consider that we could - theoretically - lose a very high draft pick next year.

You know it didn't dawn on me but I'm just curious why nobody in here and the Cowboys didn't think CJ Allen was we're taking at 23 I mean he is from the Ohio State could have been paired with Caleb Downs we need an off the ball linebacker I'm just curious of why he was still there?

Overall I'm pleased with the results of the 1st round. Good job. I was worried they would pick and Offensive player.

With williams and Malaki on the line and downs being used to rush occasionally, we have a scary pass rush again.

Williams hardly gets to the QB in his years with Dallas . Maybe James Houston & Lawrence plus a blitz
