I have to say there are needs on this team and it is also a thing in the draft that is call BPA if your selection is there. There are some possiblities that key players could slip that could really have the organization thinking about just drafting BPA = Best Player Available.

Here is a list of players that could be possibilities.

Dez Bryant

Does a good job of reaching out and catching the ball. Uses his body well to cut off and shield cornerback from the ball; makes the tough catch with the defender trying to climb over his back to make a play on the ball. Does a good job of getting his head and hands around quickly when he comes out of his cuts, which enables him to consistently catch passes that get on top of him fast. Frequently adjusts to make great catches on off-target passes.

Ran mostly quick, short routes in college; did not get to show real route-running ability. Does not explode off the ball into route but accelerates to full speed quickly after he gets going. Does not run many short routes aggressively, which leads to them being imprecise. When running routes aggressively, shows ability to get in and out of cuts quickly and runs precisely. Shows burst out of cuts when he runs routes well; is consistently able to get separation from defender.

Is a big, strong receiver who is consistently productive running after the catch. Is surprisingly quick getting turned and started up the field after the catch. Has the size, strength, balance and competitiveness running with the ball to keep feet against hard hits, but does not frequently break tackles.

Does not explode off the ball into route, but accelerates to full speed quickly. Has the strength to fight through jams and get into route quickly. Also shows the foot quickness and agility to change directions quickly to beat jams.

Gives good effort as a blocker and is usually able to eliminate his man from the play. Has the size and strength to physically dominate man once he gets a hold of him; stays after block. Will at times get a little lackadaisical and does not get after man as competitively as he must; still usually keeps man from impacting the play.

Bryant is a junior entering the draft after receiving a season-long suspension from the NCAA in October. In our view, he was as good of a receiver in 2008 as Michael Crabtree and is as good an NFL prospect this year as Crabtree was last year. He has the combination of size, strength, athleticism, quickness, hands and receiving skills that have become so popular in the NFL in recent seasons. He must run his routes more aggressively to consistently get separation from NFL defenders, but overall, Bryant is a big-time receiving talent who is going to be a high-level starter early in his career. He will not only be a valuable receiver for the QB to throw to in traffic, but he also will be an excellent red-zone target who can make great catches over defenders.

if Dez Bryant falls to the 18-20 range, he WILL be a Dallas Cowboy..I am starting to believe Jerry has made up his mind, this is the guy he wants, and he will trade a current player to move up and get him. Who you ask? I have no idea who we will trade.

We aren't moving up.

The part I wasn't sure about was moving up in the first round to pick a wide receiver with more questions than answers. That is not happening mayne. I think it's much more likely that we're going to move up into the 2-3rd rounds to pick some players we have our eyes on that won't fall. Also I really doubt Steve Dennis has any idea what we're going to do, his "guarantee" is more off opinion and hearsay than any kind of actual facts. I do think we'll move up into the 2nd-3rd round though from moving a player, there's a lot of players we could use there with an additional pick. Dez isn't coming to Dallas.

They might move up a few spots, but I seriously doubt they'd move up for a WR.

If Bryant fell in their laps at 27, they obviously would consider him.

I think Steve Dennis has about a 10% chance of being right. Yeah I would guess Jerry would try to move up with Eric Berry or Rolando McClain dropped into their reach but not for Dez Bryant.

Maybe for ET and Iupati but even then I dont see Dallas having the ammo to pull it off unless we sell the farm.

I guess I just have a hard time envisioning a scenario that is so great that Jerry just empties his pockets and makes the move.

First and foremost, I can definitely understand the thought process behind those who believe we will not move up. We are already short a pick and it would cost us more to move up. However, if Jerry and the scouts feel as if we have an opportunity to snag an elite prospect (top 5 in this draft) for an arguably cheap price, I feel as if Jerry feels that this team is only 1 or 2 pieces away.

Moving up from 27 to 18-20 range would not cost us the entire draft by any means, it would cost us a third round pick or a player that is valued as a third or a combination of both.

Now I am not suggesting the cowboys are going to move into the top 10 to go and get Bryant bu if he does happen to fall to 18 or so, I highly expect Jerry to try and pull the trigger.

There is also a ton of talk that if Roy doesn't get his act together this could be his last year. So it is also plenty possible for Jerry to be looking at a possible replacement for Roy and what better way to get Roy on his game then to draft his potential replacemnt?

I think Dallas is really hoping someone will trade a 3rd for one of their vets that they feel is expendable.

I dunno. I think they are hoping to maybe get rid of Spears or Barber honestly and use them as ammo to trade up higher into the 1st.

I hope you're right. Bennet and 27 to Cincy should do it, and 27 and Spears to NE could do it aswell. Thats if he falls past Cincy which I really doubt.
