In my opinion Patrick Crayton makes the perfect third receiver. If Terry Glenn or Keyshawn were to get hurt, would Peerless move ahead of Crayton on the Depth Chart? If Crayton moves up he could have the same problem Peerless had in Atlanta.

Impossible, Michael Vick isn't our Quarterback.

yea but if Crayton moves up then the coverage he receives will be much better, therefore he wont play as good.

I think Crayton would make a great #1 WR if Keyshawn got hurt.
He's a beast posession guy with those hands.

Crayton is a playmaker, he's going to make plays unless defenses are keying on him. You key on him, Witten and friends take his catches. Like Parcells said in his PC, Crayton basically took Witten's catches because they blanketed Witten the whole game in San Diego.

i know its early but i think Crayton is the next Hines Ward look at the similarities

qb in college
great hands
great blocking
can play special teams

Well, were a team full of #2's which is why we are dangerous. in the clutch situation we could goto ANY of our 4 guys.

For instance, when we had that goaline situation SAMMY DAVIS the chargers 3rd corner was on our "#1" Key. I mean they had no clue who to match up. Imagine 4 and goal on the 8 for us, Witten/Key/Glenn/Price/Crayton. Who covers them?

Unless Witten was blocking, they'd probably blitz us up the middle. Then Bledsoe would scramble for a touchdown and leap into the endzone Michael Vick style.

Bottom line is most of the other team's 3rd CB will have hard time covering any of our 4 WR one on one.

I like that comparrison or the Drew Pearson one (both played college ball in oklahoma). Either way he is in very good company.

Funny - 2 or 3 plays it was Key and Crayton out there while Glenn took a breather. Seems that he can handle the role fine to me.

Exactly..

and that's what I think Price brings for us..

..a versatile WR who could play any of the positions because of his experience.

The key to Prices' impact will be how Sean Payton utilizes him and where he puts him in the game.

Does he come in at slot WR, split end or flanker..? Does he set in the backfield as an H-back and go in motion..does he lineup in the 3-wides and does the 3-wide become a staple of the offense now that we have a guy like Price who can along with Glenn, force the DB's into adjustments to cover because of the speed there..?

I think with a QB like Bledsoe, you give them as many looks as possible with all the WR's and let Bledsoe fire away. Which only should open up Witten and JuJo out of the backfield with passing routes.

I'm excited but not getting carried away with the idea of Price in the offense. But it has it's possibilities.

Like last year with Morgan arriving and teasing us with his first few catches then pulling up lame..

or Eddie George coming to the team and some of us thinking he'd carry the load offensively if needed..

..things sometimes don't happen like you'd think they would. Especially with players other teams don't want. There is usually a reason they are available.

So we'll wait and see which Peerless Price we have, the older, better version ala Bledsoe or the newer, less effective one ala Vick Atlanta released.

After watching the Eagles/Falcons game Monday night, you had to ask yourself a question as to why they released Price when clearly Atlanta needed another WR so badly.

Had to be a reason. Let's hope we don't find out.

Vick will stunt the growth of Jenkins and White. What a waste of receiving talent! Atlanta should just trade the two of them and sign more tight ends!

I agree, Alt may as well run the wishbone offense to get the most out of Vicks talent, but dropping back in a pocket and finding the open man is not his strong point at all.

After watching that game the last thing I thought Atlanta needed was another WR. The one's they had were wasting their time for the most part running around back there.

Also, if Price wasn't pulling down #1 WR money with them he would still be there.

i think we definately got a steal with Crayton. Too bad the players we took ahead of him, can't make the impact he is.
