If we draft on the line, I would prefer it to be offensive line. I would take any of five or six different OGs over Gabe Watson from a value perspective.

We could hit NT late in the draft and get a good enough player to throw into the mix with Thomas Johnson and Jay Ratliff.

Watson is a bit of a gamble but I think he would be worth the risk in the second round. I do agree with you that NT in the 3-4 can be found in the later rounds of the draft though. I just think a properly motivated Watson would look really nice between Canty and Spears for the next five years....good luck trying to run up the middle on those guys. But you are right....Watson could prove to be the inconsistent player he was at Michigan.

I am also leaning towards a OL in the second round but Watson would be a strong consideration if he fell as well. BTW, my first wish is to have Ngata fall to number 18...but I don't think that is very realistic.

Spencer, G, Pitt.

Isn't very good.

I really hope that PittDawg will share his thoughts on him having watched him for years but I've seen more than a few of his games and I'm unimpressed.

At Guard in the 2nd, I'd prefer D. Joseph.

Or if it's OT in the 2nd, I hope E. Winston falls.

As for Chester, I think we could probably trade down to the bottom of the 2nd round and pick him up (and pick up a 4th rounder for our effort).

I would like David Joseph as he is good and versatile(played OT as well)

he'd be a GREAT pickup in round 2 at our pick, downright steal...

I'm hoping Gabe Watson slides...take Wimbley in the first. I'd be fine with a Ko Simpson, but would rather get a clogger or top olineman.

I agree with you about Watson, if we are able to get him in the 2nd rd it will go a long way in helping us stop the run.....

I think Jason Allen slides and we scope him up in the second after tacking a LB in the first.

that would make a great pick.

if Spencer falls to the 3rd I'd love him too.

I hope we take a guard in the 2nd. I hope it's Gean-Jiles or Lutui. Would love to hear your opinions regarding these two beasts. I never paid attention to Gean-Jiles. Only saw Lutui in the Rose Bowl and remember thinking he's LA's replacement. Thoughts
The status of Peterman may decide if we go OG or not. Those who really know if we are counting on him are not talking. Then there is the Kosier signing. If Rivera and Kosier are starting and Peterman is deemed dependable to handle the backup job, we won't go OG day one.

I'm thinking Charles Spencer in the 2nd would be a great pick. Big, fairly quick, supposedly pulls better than Max Jean-Giles.

gotta go with oline, if our line was just a little more solid, I could see us as a 12-4 or 13-3 team.

I would hope it isn't Spitz or Chester in the second round. Those would both be terrible choices. In the third or optimally fourth is where I think those two have value. But absolutely not at 49.

One or both of those players will be off the board before the end of the second round, and I'm confident that both will be gone by the end of the first day... Chester in particular is really rising the charts, after his Pro Day workout...

And of course, as a converted TE, Chester will certainly have Parcells' eye... LOL...
