Good list. The only thing I would change is drop Hoyte and add Joey Brown, but that's just me.

Like your choices, except for:

Remi Ayodele has been looking good the last several days so he replaces Bowen.

Nate Jones has been playing better sohe replaces Reeves

Courtney Brown is playing at FS (not CB) & really coming on last few days.

I don't see keeping Obomese, unless he replaces Ellis if Ellis is a no go. Just a number crunch thing.

And I believe that we will keep Moore.

I do like Thomas over Jones.

With Ellis in doubt we'll keep as many pass rushers as we can.

Moore need more than one game to convince me he can't make it through to the practice squad.

I have been working on my 53 man and it is hard. I want to keep 55 players.. and I can't decide who the 2 should be. I will say this, we are going to end up cutting some very talented football players in a few weeks.

Good list. Although replace "some LB" with TE Curtis. They will keep 3 TE's.

I'd go w/ what BZ did, keep only 2 QBs and add a 3rd TE, Curtis

I have us keeping 9 LBs because Phillips had 10 on his roster in San Diego last year, you can never have enough LBs in a 3-4

I like the corrections BZ made to my list, although I'd still keep Nate Jones on the roster because he's a good special teamer who the coaches and scouts say does 'nothing wrong' as a player

Folk over Marteeen, eh?

I agree with the notion of youth, but Gramatica has been Automatica for us in no uncertain terms. And he's been in the cooker before. I might even keep two kickers on for now.

On that issue, I'm glad I'm not the coach.

I did give the nod to Folk because of his youth, and the fact that he costs less and has been just as accurate

and I don't think Martin can keep kicking off like he did against the Colts for very long, but I can see Folk continuing to boom kicks all year because his leg is stronger and alot fresher

but I agree, I'd hate to be the coach right now, I'm having a hard time deciding whether to keep Nate Jones or Joey Thomas too

Phillips has stated that if Ellis isn't ready to go, Carpenter will move to OLB. I see no reason to keep a 9th LB.

And Phillips said this in today's PC:

Ellis’ return? And when do you start thinking about the ‘if not Ellis" scenarios?
Not ready to discuss "if not" yet, still getting reports he could practice soon, I just go with that. We’d go with Spencer obviously. If Ellis is ready by last preseason game like T. Glenn, he could go in and play. He’s a good football player, I’ve seen him beat some good tackles in this league. I know he’s a great guy, he’s in meetings and knows what to do, helps others, works hard, he’s got it all going for him except for the injury.

can't believe I missed this

why on Earth would we do that? he's the leader at FB by far, and by Phillip's account is turning into a good one since he's doing good learning routes

Hoyte was a FB. That's 9. Who was the 10th?

I didn't say he'd be the starter. He expressly stated that if Ellis couldn't go, Carpenter would play OLB.

Gotcha. He had a couple guys in their mid-30s, though, and none of his ILBs could also play OLB.

And he said not only are they a must for the 3-4 scheme, but they make up the core of your special teams...no way we only keep 8.
