1a. CB Aqib Talib
1b. WR Limas Sweed
2. Matt Forte
3. CB Dwight Lowery
4. DT Frank Okam
5. OT Kirk Barton
6. FS D.J. Parker
7. OLB Stanford Keglar

Eh... not horrible, there are 7 backs I'd take before Forte though, I'm hoping all 7 aren't gone before our pick cause I wouldn't be "excited" over drafting Forte even though I think he's underrated. Out of a lot of these guys, Forte is probably the closet to actually playing in an offense similar to what he'll see in the NFL.

Of course, I prefer Hardy over Sweed at this point. I like Okam in the 4th as well, but Lowery is a little on the slow side if you ask me. That'd be too cb's that aren't exactly burners although Talib's 4.44 40 is NFL speed.

I love it. I know a lot of people are not high on Sweed or Talib because they have potential to be bust more than the other top CB's and WR's. But they also have the potential to be one of the best at their positions. They have talent its just how well they can adapt to the pros. We need CB's and WR's more than a RB and this draft would fill those positions

..to the highest bidder.

Please pay the cashier on the way out.

Thank you.

I'm with you on Lowery, I actually have him rated very very low. Now, I love the Forte pick, I would be excited over it. Just so you know, in that draft Forte was the eighth RB taken, with Ray Rice being the 9th a few picks later. Okam and Sweed seem to really be big boom or bust type prospects so I'd hold off judgment on them. Then Talib I like a lot.

I'm very weary of Sweed. And Could another OT make the 2008 Cowboys' roster? I don't know.
I love the DJ Parker pick.

Forte has some moves but I like Corey Boyd better. And Boyd can probably be had near the end of day one or even into day two better. Once you get out of the top 5-6 backs I think you can get about the same RB into the 3rd round maybe even 4th.

We'll see. But Forte is a legitimate pick in the second.

I agree on a lot of your points, especially that Okam and Sweed seem like boom or busts types, which scares me a little.

I too am wary of Sweed and Talib, but they are legitimate prospects...jsut not the ones I would want in those slots.

I feel certain that Forte goes in the 3-4 round, but we shall see. He is a sleeper and could surprise.

Unlike some here, I thnk for SURE we take a O lineman if a decnet one slips down to us after our 1st 3 picks.

Okam could be there. I even have miced feeling on him, but not as much if he's our 5th pick.

Man, I'm a sloppy writer sometimes. Bottom line, I give that draft a C-.

7. OLB Stanford Keglar

This kid has a lot of physical tools and is very quick. He needs some work on recognition. When he guessed right he made a lot of good plays. Played with Spencer at Purdue.

We don't need another 2nd day OT; if we draft an OL, it needs to be a good OG who also has a history of playing OC. If Oneil Cousins is on the board when we pick in the 3rd round, I'd grab him. He can play all OL positions, (some think he could also start as an OT down the road) but I'd want him to challenge Kosier but also be a good backup behind Gurode; Cousins is also a L/S. But I do think the Cowboys like Proctor so it very likely we won't draft an OL this year.

You may be right, but I think it was a 4.47, now that it means much.

I'm not sure how much you guys have seen Talib. He is a great playmaker, but is skills are very raw and is footwork is poor. I guess a guy with good instincts can maybe be coached up?

ranch report guy thinks we go WR & RB in Rd. 1.... no CORNER???

I really like this draft. If it works out like this I'll be happy it might not be who I want, but the guys I want might not be there.

..to me..there is very good upside in where these picks fall and what we are needing..

..it's not blue sky and it's got some boom/bust risk..

but so does every realistic mock I've seen for us.
