Did we move back to the 3-4? Or where we just mixing it up on D? I thought I seen a lot of 3 down lineman sets

The majority was 4-3. Smith played DE standing up. The DTs stayed lined up in 4-3.
Both DE's were standing up a good percentage of the time. Normally only two lineman had their hands on the ground....it was strange.

It was a mix of both depending on the personnel. I'm a big fan of it. Will be easier to make adjustments week to week and also in game adjustments as well. I just think our players are bad. Especially at LB and DT.

I'm expecting it to remain that way most of the year. Gotta have a change of pace to keep 'em off balance now and then.

It looked like a 3-4 to me.

Also looked like Poe was Poo at the nose.

PFF gave Poe a 37. Holley, Church, and Nate called him out for poor play on the postgame show.

Griffen had a bad game too, but I think he was playing a lot of DT, which is a stretch for him.

All our free agent signings of any real money haven't panned out. Dix. McCoy. Poe. Griffen. Maybe Dalton is ok.

I need to see the All 22 on Griffen I know he had some issues with the run but I thought he had a few splash plays.....

That's kind of what happens when you go shopping in the bargin bin. You may get lucky every now and then but more often then not you get crap. I think McCoy injury was a huge blow to our defense.

Everyone was worried about the secondary, and they were ok, while the LBs were a disaster.

DT was funny. Hill surprisingly ok, Poe surprisingly awful. AWoods ok too. Crawford awful. Griffen bad playing at DT.

Looks like the 2nd season in a row that Crawford is robbing Jerry.

We were already light at pass rushing DT *before* McCoy went down. Lucked out that Hill is playing ok. But bad news that Poe, Crawford, and Griffen aren't. We needed Poe to anchor the dline, andCrawford to provide some pass rush. Neither came through.

Hill and AWoods are two low end starter types. And that appears to be all we've got at DT. We've got a problem.

i dont care of it was a 1 10 or a 10 1 7 4 or 47 defense , jst stop the bend dont break crap, the bootleg killed them expect other teams to keep doing it until we stop it..

it was just game 1 and facts are really they gave up 20 and our offense couldnt get to 20..

id say equal blame all around but the defense was fully to blame when the offense cant score more then 17 you will lose a lot fo games..

didnt ATL put up like near 600yards of offense on the mighty Seahawks with their new Adams toy? No like their defense played much better but their offense had a Elite QB named wilson that led his team to enough scores to win..

you a QB that doesnt need to best OL or Best RB to make plays.. ill leave it there ;)

I haven't rewatched the game and I won't haha, but it looked like a 3-4 base and a lot of 4man nickel.

Defense looked out of sync mostly what ever the formation. They held the edge well enough but the motions and boots killed them early. LB and DT play was weak and the SS was terrible.

They settled down or adjusted in the 2nd half and held the Rams to 20 points. The offense let that game go with 17 points. 17 isn't going to win very many games no matter what your defense is doing.
