I would like to see:

OT
WR
C
FS
DE
OLB

I would like to see a fresh player added at center...to come up within three years, when the new deal goes into affect in the NFL, the Cowboys aren't handcuffed due to skillsets already on the team. Depth is nice...

by the way, Canadian fan, who is your favorite group of players on today's roster?

WR - Romo friendly means Romo friendly.
LT - Ditto.
DT - Gotta give Rat a break and if we added a monster we could give offenses different looks and be a really dynamic 3-4.

LT. Maybe even twice. Then DE if it looks like Spears is going.

Ill take Jordan Shipley and smile.

Now I usually don't comment during the college season on prospects, but this Texas kid has really warmed my heart, with his.

OMG....WoW!!!!

It's just a difference of opinion, but I don't agree with either end of that AT ALL. I think we have either the absolute worst or 3rd best WR corps in our own division. I think we're playing 3 WRs, at least two of whom would be serviceable but not starting on most other teams.

We now have better depth at WR, but I still don't see a single guy who can beat the CB and get open on a regular basis. Even against KC, Austin's big plays were mostly about him breaking a crappy tackle...the cb was right on him when he caught the ball, and the past few games, he can't get open at all.

Crayton is in his best spot, as the 3rd receiver, and even as the 3rd guy he's not beating his coverage with any regularity either. Austin and Crayton make most of their plays on broken plays when Romo scrambles. I'd still say Roy, with all his problems, is the best receiver on this team by far. He seems to be the only one who gets any passes directed his way on time, which tells me he gets a little more open that the other two guys do.

I love Rat, Ware, Jenkins, Sensabaugh, Brooking. On offense, I like Romo, Witten, Bennett and hope that Felix gets it together soon.

Are you serious?!?
Our WR CORPS is not good. RW is a lifelong underachiever and always will be. Sadly and I hate to say it but our offense would be tons better with TO instead of RW, although team chemistry may be worse. We missed hard by not taking the speedster Mike Wallace IMO. None of our WRs can get separation. Austin only does with comebacks. Austin is straight line speed. We need someone who can get in and out of cuts without losing speed a la Terry Glenn. Until RW starts catching the few balls that go his way when he finally gets open, he's a complete waste of a roster spot. Seriously, what D would fear him?
I have to say that our needs are clearly and specifically:
1) playmaker at WR (Dez Bryant)
2) LT (Anthony Davis or Marcus McNeil)
3) ILB (Rolando McClain)
4) NT to move Ratilff to DE (Terrence Cody)
5) CB (Joe Haden, Javier Arenas)
6) C/G

Our WR is deeply mediocre. We have a lot of the same players, RW, Hurd, and Crayton are all possession WRs. Austin is deep speed only. Ogletree is the most interesting prospect. If you're a defense, who of those scare you?
If we get a NT like Cody then Ratliff slides over and we still have Bowen as backup. Spears and Hatcher can probably walk.
At ILB we're thin, Brooking is older and we might be an injury away from serious problems. Be nice to get someone like McClain to groom.
Safety isn't that big of an issue to me. Ken Hamlin isn't making a ton of plays but he's not giving them up either. As a side note, we totally whiffed by not picking up either Darren Sharper or Dawkins. Sensabaugh should be resigned immediately. We also have Mike Hamlin and we're not sure how good he's going to be but I have a feeling he might be good. Ball did a decent job too. Sure, if someone like Berry or Earl Thomas fell to us it would be a big upgrade but we're okay if we have to stand pat.
CB is more concerning to me. TNew is old and not playing well. Jenkins is great, Scandrick is okay, but then who? You always need three starting caliber corners. If we got someone like Joe Haden or Javier Arenas in the draft, it would be helpful, esp Arenas who'd instantly upgrade our return game.

You are absolutely right on with your review of the wide receiver corp. It is pathetic, even though Miles Austin has been somewhat a pleasant surprise. I don't think he can be a #1 though, he seems to be limited in what he can do. I was impressed greatly with his catch in Philly however. Too bad he couldn't carry that forward into Green Bay.

The OL is in need of some serious upgrading. Both guards need a good backup, and Flozell is just about spent. While Free may be capable, who else on the team is.

he will be wasted in this offense.we need someone like desean jackon who can outrun some corners and catch some of Romo's overthrows.

I want Roy out of here and wr still wouldn't be a concern. We're actually better with Hurd on the field and I don't want to lose him. We need to cut this guy loose so we can have room for real players. Rant off.

I'll say OL, DT, and K if Folk doesn't improve.

Give it up already, Roy isn't going anywhere. Your energy would be better spent wanting him to improve than wanting him to be cut.

I still think WR is a concern, I don't know that Hurd will stay and Ogletree will possibly move up to take his spot so we'll need another guy anyway and I'd rather get a guy with some potential than another Stanback.

a burner at receiver
a good OT
other OL

unless we lose players, I'll stick with our D (unless a great T or FS falls in our lap in the draft)

Agreed these guys are so bias with their Texas love. It's crazy.

While skill positions are very important, it all starts up front. No OL, no offense. No DL, no defense.

In no particular order:

OL: We seem to have found a backup OT and future starter in Free. Yes, it's still too early to tell but it looks promising. We have nothing but a marginal backup C. He's servicable but that's it. Now, I've always said he's better than what we hear from the vast majority on here state. And he could prove to be more than servicable. Yes, I said that with a st8 face. But I ain't holding my breath for that to happen. So we need a future starting center. OG needs updating. I fear there is no future starter on the team but I'm not counting the injured OL we took this year either.

WR: We need a playmaker. You must have a go to guy and/or a playmaker. Imagine what this team would be like with an Irvin out there each Sunday. I'm not holding my breath on Ogletree either although I like the kid. I think he will be a player but emphasis on think. This is a must need in the draft or FA. I would vastly suggest drafting one.

RB: only if a playmaker falls in our laps.

QB: always look to find the next starting QB. You should draft or find one every year. They are worth picks at the least.

TE: only if a playmaker falls to us.

FB: they should find one who can catch the ball and run some, too. This is an underutilized position on this team.

DE: if Spears leaves which is likely IMO, we will need to fill this somehow

DT: you can never have enough DTs. On this team they need to be able to play NT first. We still use DTs and Bowen has done well here and at DE. He could replace Spears IMO. If Hatcher goes too then this is a must draft as well.

Mike: we need a future starter at this position. We don't have a backup either.

Mo: Brooking has been sensational. We need his future backup next year or the next. Look for Williams to fill that role if he recovers.

OLB: this is a must need as well unless one is already on the team. I'd draft one high if they fall to us.

FS: I think Sensabaugh will go there and M Hamlin will be a good SS. JMO

SS: Hamlin has played better this year but I look for Mike to beat him out before next year is over.

CB: You can never have enough CBs to play in this league. We are better than steady here but one injury and we are average at best. Again, if a stellar CB falls to us in the 1-3 rounds we should jump all over them. Unless they are better OLBs or OL available.

We are strong enough that we can draft the BPA at any position. If our offense and 3rd down defense can pull it together then we will draft low in the first round.

it would be a pretty dull draft day but i wouldn't mind if we went all OL, we need to get younger all across the line

OL before FS.
IMO a little off base on getting rid of RW. Contract will not allow it. No one will trade for him. Salary cap hit way too big. He is here for the next few years.
I still think he brings something to the offense and contributes.
Say what you will, but the DC's of opponents still have to game plan for him.
Austin and Crayton they wouldn't respect.
/austin has 3 great games, then disapperaed the last 2 games. Crayton great as a #3 [despite his drops at key moments], and very good #2.
We still need a #1 true threat. RW despite his lack of plays still gives us that even in name only.
