People whining about the players having families kind of makes my eyes roll.
I can understand a lower draft choice trying to get all he can after his rookie deal expires and I have no problem with that. But for a player that is going into his third contract not so much

If you cannot live well off of say 10-20 million dollars then that is YOUR problem

Osa plays a position where stats don't show his worth. Havento watch the WHOLE game and see how good he is. Everyone disappears according to most fans
how many big plays has he made? How many times can you show he made a real difference in a game? Until you can show that, no on any big money.

I'd like to see them extend Osa because Phillips and Joseph are one 1 year deals. That only leaves Mazi if Osa leaves. Given how the Cowboys are not great at drafting DTs, and that they do not sign quality free agents depending on the draft to replace Osa would be a huge risk. But it would not shock me to see Osa get a big contract somewhere else.

Lawrence is 32 this year. At most he has 2 years left in him but we have to expect his play will begin to diminish shortly. We want to resign him if he is the DLaw we have seen for years with Dallas, but not if he is a shell of what he was. At the same time Lawrence is at the age where he cannot command top tier free agent money. He is looking at doing 1 year deals in free agency until he retires. If he want to continue playing he is more likely to get less money than he is making now.

Parsons will be paid next year. As far as Smith goes, Dallas typically doesn't pay their 1st round picks until after their 4th season. Why they choose the more cap expensive route is beyond my understanding.

And Dallas drafted Marshawn Kneeland this year to be DeMarcus Lawrences's replacement going forward.

So, it isn't just about DLaw playing well enough to get extended.

Lawrence's contract will void before next off-season, which will result in a dead cap hit of $7.445M (that's peanuts, Zach Martin's will be $26.46M). Law's cap number this year is $20.445M.

If his play doesn't drop off, I'd be willing to go another year for $12-$15M with plans to be done in 2026.

Jerry can't pay everyone record breaking contracts, so at some point he's going to have to put his foot down.. might cost us someone.

My guess is we lose Osa. We resign Tyler and DLaw, but if DLaw wants too dollar, I could see us being forced to move on.
Well you just said it yourself some of these guys like D law and and we're talking about Martin they're not getting big deals to stay if he's not gonna take something very team friendly then they're gone like it's time to move on.. We have Parsons and bland as well coming down the Pike....

Tyler not going anywhere, its interesting to see how they feel about OSA, most likely what type of year he has, must be career year to make sense trying to keep him. the DL is pretty old in the middle with these bandaides, so they might prioritize OSA.

If your looking at sacks rushes etc then STOP, he makes his impact by doing his job at the 3 tech. It's not going to be a stat filled sheet when Parsons, Tank etc are able to get free. WATCH the whole game or just him and see.

I like Osa, but too much money and not enough fit for the Zimmer style of defense (bigger DTs).

DLaw should get something worked out with the FO to stay on a 2 yr deal.

Tyler will be close to the highest paid OG in 3 years.

I watch the games and I do not see him doing enough to warrant a big contract
IF we had lots of cap space I would not be so against it but the fact is that as regards bang for the buck we can do better

Why do you say this........he brings quite a bit to the table, especially a lot of dirty work.
you do not pay for dirty work. And what else does he really bring to the table?

FACT is that you can get a player that does what dlaw does without costing a mint or a top pick
so yes he can be easily replaced by a team that does its due diligence and scouts well
and since so many here claim the Boys are a great drafting team what is your problem?
I am absolutely against paying any real money to a 32 year old DE that does not do enough to warrant it

Why are you angry......I simply disagree that he's easily replaceable. No I don't think he is worth a big contract but his value to our defense is worth more than you are giving him credit IMO. Again, you see it one way, I see it another way.......
