Dak has all the leverage. The Cowboys have no viable QB behind him and if he’s not extended by the FA period next year, he’ll be signed by another team.
Oh no !!!! We'll never get to our annual Wild Card appearance without Dak !!!!!

Dak's leverage is he will arguable make more money leaving Dallas or he can choose to take less with the team he thinks has a chance to make a run in the playoffs. If he thinks that is Dallas, then maybe he takes less.
Dak refuses to take less. He's asking for more. He won't take less from other teams either. If that was the case, he would take less right here in Dallas. He's stated clearly several times that he wants to play his career in Dallas. Its about more $$$.

He should be asking for more. He was making $40M. Why would he not ask for more.

Why would take less here, we are not trying to build anything. We are going backwards.

Daks no trade clause means nothing.

Jerry can cut him, post June 1.

Trade is the same cap hit.

Jerry just wants draft picks for Dak.
Dak's no trade clause means everything.

Jerry will not cut him, he wants his comp pick.

Trade will never happen.

Dak does not care what Jerry wants. Only draft compensation GM Jethro will get will come in the form of a 2026 3rd round comp pick.

Our annual playoff appearances may be over once he’s gone. We’ll see how this fan base feels about that.

So will our annual early exits from the playoffs. Not sure what the value in getting your rear handed to you every year in the playoffs is such a valuable thing to hang onto.

We’ve had early playoff exits ever since Romo was the QB. There’s a problem with the team, primarily the defense. We don’t show up for the playoffs and a new QB won’t help. By the way we only got our rear handed to us once in the playoffs with Dak.

Depends on when Jerry cuts him.

If it’s in Late June-July, all the big FA money will be gone.

And Dak loses his $29 million base salary for 2024. Shame.

Best time for a trade is before/during the draft. Everyone wins.

After that, three odds of a cut goes way up. Dallas wins.

As you can see, Dak has almost no leverage. He never did.

He can hold up a trade, but he then risks a post June 1 cut.
huh..... you better look up you rnumbers. Dak has all the leverage. His money is not in danger of being lost. Dallas has ZERO leverage as far as saving money. BUT, I thinik they have decided to just watch this season... if the team has another quick oust in the playoffs, they are done and dont care what it costs. I think it is good on both sides.

If cut, GM Jethro losses his beloved 3rd round comp pick.
