He was a likely UDFA type. Then, the pick seemed to be potentially ingenious. But for some reason, he hasn't fit the plans.

His OL coach from Kansas is coming here so I think his odds at least stay around the same for him being in the plans. The Cowboys love to be right about their draft picks, which is why they're bringing in a new OL coach.

If Vaughn is going to contribute this will be his best chance. I dont think the prior staff had any idea how to use Vaughn giving him a carry here and there and then not playing him again.

They needed to get him screens in open space, misdirection runs, and outside runs. Instead they gave him Zeke runs.

He showed he had a little something late last year. But at the same time not enough to justify a roster spot IF they bring in some actual RB’s this year.

However he will be in TC so get used to that idea. Maybe if he satays on the roster this staff will know how to utilize him better.

He was a likely UDFA type.

He was the #1 name on their board when they were on the clock.

I'll never understand the hate for Deuce. He was a 6th round pick who hasn't ever been given a chance and was massively underutilized by McCarthy. It was clear McCarthy just didn't have a clue what to do with him. So he just ignored him.

Deuce was the 212th pick of the draft. A late 6th rounder. On the other hand, the very first pick of the 6th round, pick 178 the Cowboys selected Eric Scott. That wasn't their pick originally, they traded up to select him. The Cowboys traded a fifth-round selection in the 2024 NFL draft to select Scott. So they used 2 picks to get him.........and you never (and I mean EVER) hear a peep about that massive screw up. 2 picks for a player taken over 40 picks BEFORE Deuce. Scott was inactive the entire 2023 season never seeing the field and was released by the Cowboys on August 26, 2024.

It's pretty clear some of the hate directed at the totally mismanaged 212th pick should be directed somewhere else.
