Is Eric still on the team? No? Oh, that is right, they cut him. I am pretty sure if Deuce was cut there would not be anyone "complaining" about him right now, the same as they are not complaining about Scott since he is no longer on the team. They realized they made a mistake with Scott and released him. Was it a mistake? Sure (at least where the Cowboys are involved by using two picks for him). Are they continuing the mistake and not trying to see if they can bring in someone better to fit their needs? Nope.Deuce was the 212th pick of the draft. A late 6th rounder. On the other hand, the very first pick of the 6th round, pick 178 the Cowboys selected Eric Scott. That wasn't their pick originally, they traded up to select him. The Cowboys traded a fifth-round selection in the 2024 NFL draft to select Scott. So they used 2 picks to get him.........and you never (and I mean EVER) hear a peep about that massive screw up. 2 picks for a player taken over 40 picks BEFORE Deuce.
I can see where you are coming from, but honestly, this comparison is about as incomparable as it could be. Both are not still on the team not contributing much, are they? Now you can say that Deuce is not getting used correctly or hasn't been given the opportunity. Could the same not be said for Scott as well? Both showed promise in preseason games. And Vaughn has been given a lot more opportunities than Scott ever was in the regular season.
You cannot understand the "hate" for Deuce, while many here cannot understand all the underserved love for a 6th round pick that others want to lavish on him. I am willing to bet if he was cut he would, at best, be in the exact same spot as Scott at this point, on someone's practice squad.
I hear about how great he was in college when talking about what he can do in the NFL. You know who else did great in college? Ki-Jana Carter, Lawrence Phillips, Curtis Enis, D.J. Dozier, Rashaan Salaam, Tim Biakabutuka... The list goes on and on. College success does not mean guaranteed pro success, especially from a late 6th-round pick (there was a reason, more often than not, someone was available at pick 212 in the first place).
Change the word hate to love and the statement remains the same. (for others on this board). It's pretty clear some of the hate directed at the totally mismanaged 212th pick should be directed somewhere else.
