You cannot be serious....a 'C'...when you have that many guys start that many games on a a team that made the playoffs....their is no way it should receive a grade that low

Oh I see what happened... I gave my "c" grade and didnt grade for NOW. I know the "c" is twice in post I was just reiterating my c... I was leaving it up to you guys to give the before and after grades.

Can't fault the Beriault pick... we never found out what he was capable of before his career ending injury. We sure do need another SS today, though.

A "C" would mean an average draft.

We got one of the best defenders on the league out of the 2005 draft.

That's an A right there.

Ahh. That makes more sense. Thanks for clarifying.

I think I graded the draft high initially because of Ware, Spears and Canty; all of whom I thought would set the world on fire.

In retrospect I would still grade the draft A or A+ based on Ware, MBIII and Ratliff. Plus Canty and Spears being solid starters and only two players not still with team. Had Berriault not had to retire due to injuries I think he would have supplanted Keith Davis.

I gave it a B then, I give it an A now.

Ware is maybe the best defensive player in all of football. Spears is a solid D-Lineman. Canty is a phenomenal D-Lineman. Burnett contributes a ton in our nickel and dime defenses. Barber is our starting running back. Ratliff is a gem.

I would like to go back and grade our draft... realistically. We cannot rate this one yet.

We can go back 3 years or so and see what happened and what they grade really was...

1 11 DeMarcus Ware OLB Troy State
1 20 Nors
2 42 CrazyCowboy
4 109 Marion Barber RB Minnesota
4 132 Chris Canty DE Virginia
6 208 YoMick
6 209 Pizza Hut Delivery Guy
7 224 Jay Ratliff DE Auburn

Grade C

I don't care if the draft was this, I'd still give it an A.

6 208 Justin Beriault DB Ball State
6 209 Rob Petitti T Pittsburgh
7 224 Jay Ratliff DE Auburn

I dont remember what I graded this draft... I know I was high on Ware but that was it... to me... this draft was C at best.... I was just happy to get what we thought we had gotten in a "playmaker" in Ware.

Barber = Gem

Grade C

Do you know how many teams have drafts where they get 2 Pro Bowlers and 3 other starters, one of whom was a borderline Pro Bowler (Ratliff)?

Look around the league and most teams are happy to get 3 starters out of one draft that contribute. Tough judge.

No, just totally unreasonable expectations

See his last comment. His "C" grade was what he thought at the time.

Id have to say that I would have given that draft a B after the draft. We got Ware which I was thrilled we didnt get Merriman. We got Spears off a pretty big year, and Canty had 1st round abilities.

My buddy at work is a huge golden gopher fan so I heard about Barber and Maroney every day from him, and I remember how much I threw it in his face that we got him. I didnt think that he would turn out to be the back that he is now.

I hope that Carp can come through in his third year before he earns himself a big fat F.:banghead:

uh, that's easy: A+

Ware looks like the best player in that draft class.
Barber is a Pro bowler and Td machine.
Canty is a solid 3-4 DE.
Ratliff is an NFL starter at a few different positions.

Spears has seriously underwhelmed but is a starter on a 13-3 team, Petitti has bounced around but remained in the league and Beriault got hurt.

No offense but anyone grading this below an A should never grade another draft.

DeMarcus Ware looks like a Hall of Famer and we have 4 more starters out of that group with a solid backup in Burnett.

That's a B+ draft at least......

The only person we really missed on in that draft was Pettiti, and he's still in the league.

Unequivocally deserves an A+.

YoMick, you give this draft a "C"? You get a grade "C" from me too. "C" for clueless!!! Come on, get a grip, be serious. They say hindsight is 20/20. I guess in your case even with hindsight you still don't get it.
