30 touches for Murray is too much

First of all, he is injury prone

Secondly, he does not make people miss.

With the coverages Dez and Miles are going to see. We have to have explosive players to take advantage of single coverage or soft spots in the zone. The flats were open...we need a guy that can take a 4 yard catch and turn it into a big play. I assume everyone saw Reggie Bush go 80 yards on a simple pass play

I hope Dunbar can play soon and make teams pay for suffocating Dez. And then we can return Murray to a role that will suit him better over the course of 16 games. But we have way too many talented players on this roster to lean on Murray this much.

So many teams are employing RB by committee. Murray is NOT Adrian Peterson. So he should NOT touch the ball this much

Dunbar is going to get a lot of those touches in the passing game I would think.

I thought he looked gassed also. Randle should have gotten a few snaps also. But with romo smashed they probably wanted best blocking in there.

Yeah, I was hoping we would give Randle some snaps. Murray just looks like he doesn't have any burst.

Dunbar will take some of the 3rd down snaps, we don't lose when Murray runs the ball 18+ times.

I'm looking forward to seeing what Dunbar can do in this offense. It's probably just a matter of time before Randle moves ahead of Tanner on the depth chart.

Murray was solid. He averaged over 4 yards a touch and ran over some people. He is fine as our workhorse back, we just need Dunbar back for a slightly different look. Tanner looked terrible.

Tanners run didn't look terrible, the fumble was awful.

Murray ended up with 20 carries for 86 yards and 8 receptions for 39 yards.

He was involved in what could have been the key turning point play in the game. Early on, when Romo threw what looked like a pick 6 to Mundy, DeMarco raced all the way down the field and tackled him at the 1 yard line. It ended up being a 4-point play (the defense shut the Giants down and they were forced to kick a field goal). The score was then 3-3 (instead of 7-3 Giants).

So, it could be argued that if DeMarco does not make that play, the entire momentum and complexion of the game shifts early.

I was frustrated as well watching him run last night (especially with the subpar linebackers that the Giants were fielding).

But in the light of day, with a little bit of hindsight, given the stout front 4 of the Giants, DeMarco managed 125 yards of total production and his hustle may have kept the game in check for us.

All in all, I'm glad he was in there last night.

I had no problems with Murray's play tonight. The run blocking?

Yea, Got a problem with that. So does Dallas.

He is not a patient runner. Which is why Terrell Davis said "Murray runs to darkness". With all the playmakers on this offense....he has to do more if he is going to touch the ball that much. I am not saying I don't like him. I am just saying that is way too many touches. The offense had little to no explosive plays. And that puts way too much pressure on a team executing flawlessly. Moving the ball in 4 yard chunks is painful!

I disagree[and i've been critical of murray's agility]
I seen him run up the middle on a decent run, fake out a defender and get some decent yardage.
He'll settle in. I say give him 20 carries a game and the other carries should be split between the other RB's.

Giants forced our offense into running at their strength---their DLine. On passing downs it forced Romo to check down, especially away from Dez. There --if the Lions can still keep Megatron involved, we should be able to tweak ours for Dez. Teams will copy that until it does get adapted to by Garretts system.

TOTALLY agree. People think this complaining. But it is not. It is concern. We saw this last year. And we thought if we got rid of Ogletree and found a better 3rd WR would make teams pay for doubling Dez. You should also be able to run people to death and force those safeties to cheat up and help out in the run. Which would loosen things on the outside and set up play action. Then the big plays come. Without 6 turnovers we lose last night...because this offense was subpar!

Tanner touched the ball twice; fumbled fighting for extra yards.
