Well playing with our backup safeties didn't help today, but Carr needs to play better, plain and simple. He played really well the past two weeks and then against a top player, when we really needed him, he shriveled up. He wasn't physical with CJ at all. He played soft all day.

How about Mo Claiborne playing better?

You know the guy we gave a first and second round pick to take at no. 6 overall.

Plenty of blame to go around, when you give your offense 4 turnovers and still lose the possession battle 35-24 minutes? This while putting up about 100 yds of offense in the first half, we have issues all over the place. We have too much talent on offense to allow this.

Some of what you saw was on the safeties. You cannot play this defense without a safety who can play it. I realize Wilcox is still a rookie but he does have some experience playing that deep safety role in this defense. Most of what you saw was a hot QB throwing to a nearly unstoppable WR. Yes teams to stop CJ but many don't shut him down. I do question them not pressing him more but second guessing this bandaid defense is probably not reasonable. We don't know which scrubs from off the street, waiver wire, or PS can play their role in the base defense much less more sophisticated roles.

Blaming Carr for most or all of what CJ did doesn't take into account the DL getting limited pressure and having to play an UDFA safety from little university along side Church who isn't exactly a vested veteran. I'm amazed we've lost three winnable games by five points. No hold there and we likely win the game. We play the unbeaten Chiefs at their home and get beat by one. We lose to one of the best teams in the NFL with a QB having the best season ever seen and they have to kick a FG with time running out to win. Same with a good Lions team on the road. Almost doesn't count for a lot but you guys act like we're the old time Ain'ts instead of a first place team with 3 losses by 5 points albeit in a lousy division.

We had no turnovers and the only bad play I can remember was the hold on Smith.

When you give up 300 passing yards per game, you're entire defense needs to play better.

But individually, when you pay a guy like a top FA CB, he needs to show up when playing against top competition.

If we had won, I wouldn't even care about the yards. He can have his records and stats. We blew another game today. What is it, three of our losses by a total of 5 points or something like that? I'm tired of it.

Well, if you give up 329 yards, even if you win. THAT PROBLEM will bite you in the ARSE during the regular season and... in the playoffs.

I don't disagree, however when you draft a guy 6th overall (and give up a first and second to do so) does he not also need to show up?

At least Carr has shown up in several games, which is more than can be said about Claiborne.

In fact looking at all the first round defensive picks the Boys have made since 2005, who is actually showing up?

that is why all those blaming Romo and the offense have nothing to say. When you give up the second most yards in any game in NFL history to a wide receiver, then that loss is on the D no matter what bleating goes on.

What really is worse is that this went on the whole game. There were no adjustments at all.

Im not excusing Mo's play at all. Just stating that Carr was on CJ most of the game and when you're paid like a top CB you need to not play like a 5 year old pee wee player in big games.

A lot of d-line injuries- can't predict/prevent that.
I do think this team needs some real talent at safety. Has for a looong time.

sorry but Rat and spencer issues were known heading into the season

it is just that we dont prioritize the DL and believe that spending a lot of money and draft picks on flashy players in the secondary will make up for it

whatever the Lions and other teams did to Dez...THAT is what should have been done to Megaton! Not that we would have totally shut him down...but MAKE SOMEONE ELSE BEAT YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He has not done that to anyone else...and it was the 2nd best performance in NFL history. So I don't care how talented he is....THAT should not have happened!!!!!!!!!!!

Carr is awesome, but was plain outmatched- like a child covering a man. I don't how you defend a guy like that.
329 yards.

With a safety that knows what the $%$# their doing. And NOT with a bend don't break defense.

When the 'Rushmen' plan isn't working.............TRY something else in the secondary, please.
