I am ready to coach guys! I am disciplined, I work well with difficult people and I am confident that I can get a 53% wining percentage over 4 years :D

Seriously isn't is amazing what professional sports has come to? $17 million for what is essentially a 500 team :bang2:

results are everything with people these days. So short-sighted that they would gladly trade in another superbowl for 20 more years of sub-500 play.

plus 0-2 in the playoffs.

Yes...I'm still struggling with my calculator to come up with the right number for how much Jerry paid for each playoff win.

I hope all these Parcells bashers are here when the 5-11 seasons start again

Present. Funny. If a person is critical of a guy they become a "basher" and a "hater"

It can't be that he just didn't do a very good job here.

And I'm sure if the team does well next year, it'll be because they are his players, right.

So, you're all set up with your mantras for next year.

"Heads I win. Tails you lose"

This obviously wasn't a .500 team this last season. I know 9-7 is one game from it, but can anyone honestly say that this was a ".500 team"?

This team is lightyears beyond where it was in 2002. That is what $17 million paid for.

And Carpenter coming up. But Bradie James? Not a good example.

But you are right, this team is loaded with talent.
And ol what's his name could not get them to perform. that's why Jerra is looking for a new coach.

I would probably take that proposition over 20 years of above 500 play and no SB titles. Because as much as I hated those 5-11 seasons, and remind people that if anything, Parcells has us in a position where we should be away from that for a while, 5-11 is pretty much the same as 11-5 if you look back on a season that nets you no hardware.

He, just like any other coach, or player, is paid for results.

Even Parcells himself has said that.

How do you respect the guy (which IMO, is cool) and then simply ignore his VERY own words? "You are what your record says you are"

I have never understood that about those who supported him.

Please explain.

and honestly, I'm not being a jerk. I simply don't understand how you can judge the guy by a value set that is different from the one he used to judge teams.

I'm not really ripping him. I just think it is amazing when you look at how much money he got and now that his reign is over, he barely broke 500. To all of the people who say we are better than 53% I refer you to BP's famous quote "You are what you are". We were 53% over his tenure. Now we are a better team when he is leaving then we were when he got here but we are still 53%.

The only thing that bothers me and makes me wonder if we went backwards is our D. When he came here we ran a fairly successful 4-3, then he changed to a 3-4 and Zimmer couldn't run it so he let him leave and now we have a 3-4 without a D coordinator to coach it. There aren't many 3-4 coaches and so did we really get better?

Honestly, that saying is idiotic and I wish it would have never been used.

To say we paid for a .500 record is pretty myopic.

OK. But he's said it time and again throughout his career. Just so you know.

Oh, I know. It's an overly broad statement that is pretty much useless. I cringe every time I hear it.
